Customer Review: Tried it twice, but its not worth it

I am road biker, never go off road. I purchased the mount and was happy at first since it was easy to attach and adjust. It went well for a few rides and then suddenly after a hard, but still normal, bump, the upper bracket just broke off, causing my GPS to slide violently over the tarmac. The plastic seems to be very cheap stuff, not at all rugged. Because of the lack of alternatives I purchased the mount again, this time I stabilized it with rubber and tape. Went off to the moutains, it went well for a few days and about 400KM but the on a downhill, a bump, and off my GPS went. Causing me almost to crash :(
The GPS survived (though with really deep scratches) and the mount was damaged again. Garmin should give a dime or two about their customer in the after-sales market, it may not be the profit margins they are used to, but a happy customer may be worth it in the long run.

I have been a Garmin e-trex Vista C user for a few years. I recently purchased the GPS 60cx, a far superior product. I use the handhelds mostly for cycling. I am an avid mountain bike and road cyclist. For planning road cycling trips, the GPS 60 CX is a must have tool. Great at planning trips and the larger screen, faster response time, as well increased memory make it a superior tool compared to the Vista C. I am planning a self-contained bicycled tour this fall starting in Oneonta, NY along the Delaware River south through NY, PA, & NJ with the final destination being South Jersey. The 60CX is capable of carrying all the maps, routes & waypoints needed for the trip.
I'll still use the vista C for mountain biking where its small size and power is sufficient for exploring trails in the Million acres of the pinelands South Jersey where I live!

When I upgraded my GPS my first concern was mounting the new unit to my bicycle. I'd used the Garmin mount for my old GPS, so I figured I'd get the new mount for this one. I was pleasantly surprised when the new mount used the same handlebar part as my old one, so I didn't even have to remove and replace it. A nice bonus is that I now have an extra handlebar part for use on a second bike, if I ever purchase one. This mount is especially nice for the fact it isn't anything you don't want. It is completely no frills, so it does what you want with nothing more. It snaps on and off the bike in seconds, and on and off the GPS in a second. It doesn't cover any part of the face of the GPS, so you still have full functionality of the unit with this installed. I have no problem giving this my fullest recommendation.Customer Review: Works great

I purchased this mount so I could have my GPS available and viewable during my bike rides. The mount couldn't have been easier to install (one screw) and adjust. My GPS quickly clicks in and out of the unit so I can easily take it with me when I finish my ride.
I originally intended the mount for my road bike. Anyone who has been to Wisconsin knows that our roads can be very bumpy as a result of our harsh winters. Despite riding over numerous filled potholes and rough railroad tracks the mount holds on to my GPS 60csx securely.
I felt confident enough with the mount that I bought a second one for my mountain bike. Throughout a summer of hard trail riding the mount held my GPS securely.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the mount and recommend it.

The Garmin universal mount for the GPS Map 60 CS series is great - take it from the car to the bicycle, to the motorcycle in a jiffy. Or get two and just move the GPS.
The little mount looks delicate, but don't let that deceive you. I took a spill on my trekking bike last winter, with the mount on the handlebars. The GPS wasn't in it, but the bracket (the thing with the loop at the top and the curved bottom, which actually holds the GPS) took a big wallop, which cracked the loop right at the top. I thought it was ruined. I glued it, which didn't hold, but it didn't need to. The GPS still sits tight and firm. I now use it for the car, and have an intact one on my bicycle - I'm a little risk-averse here...
And for the price - can't be beat.
