Garmin Map Update 2009 for City Navigator North America NT.This is one of the best RIPOFF I've seen.I purchased the garmin gps for my wife to use. It was useless to her because the gps listed the road name in parish road numbers such as pr 101. Over 10 years ago when north Louisiana went to the 911 emergency numbers all parish roads sign were changed to road names such as Thomas Rd.instead of Pr 101. I purchased her a Megillon gps which had the roads listed correctly. On 12--09 I bought the 2009 garmin update cd.The new update is still over 10 years behind,it still shows the roads by number not names. Don't wast your money on the update or the garmin gps, purchase megillin gps no updates needed.Customer Review: Update is slightly disappointing

I love my old Garmin c330 and it's taken me across the country so I decided to invest in this 2009 map update. Yes, it does provide many new points, but still doesn't show the "new" (3 years old) city street behind my house or other streets that should be on it. It was pretty pricey and considering how much new GPS units have come down in price, probably not a terrific investment. In addition, you can only update 1 unit with the CD--which really makes it not much of a deal since I have 2 old c330's that needed updating (and I foolishly thought I could use the CD for both since they're both in my name). Overall I'd say buy a new Garmin (which I did when their prices went down over the holidays) because the new ones are thinner and of just as much use rather than purchase the map update.Customer Review: Waste of Money...

I purchased this update for my Garmin C340 and i don't see a bit of difference in the maps or the performance of my GPS. I live in Houston, Texas and the GPS still can't find my workplace, my gym, a nearby wal-mart and most other things. I am not sure what got updated by this DVD but i can tell you for sure...it wasn't the maps. I have two C340s and i was hoping to somehow update both with this DVD but it won't let me. The Garmin people tell me that i need to buy another DVD to update the other GPS....well, that's a mistake i am not going to repeat...especially when i am wishing i should not have bought this one. Don't waste your money buying this update..wait for a few years till Garmin comes up with Map update 2021 DVD and update everything then....and hope they updated the maps...Customer Review: WARNING - Not as advertised

First, I really have come to appreciate my Nuvi 200W. The price was right and the unit generally performs well.
Now the warning ! I recently purchased the updated (2009) North American Map. I was disapppointed to learn that the map does not include Canada.
That was the reason I purchased the update in the first place. The package labeling clearly states the disk contains both the U.S. & Canada. However, after many attempts to load the disk I contacted Garmin to learn that "I had to have purchased the Canada map originally to be able to get it on the upgrade." There is nothing in Garmin's literature
that would give me that impression. North America is North America.
Having said this ... I like the Nuvi200W !

There are two City Navigator 2009 updates. The difference is in the data formatting. One version is NT, the other not. Call Garmin first and check which version works with your GPS unit.
One version is titled "City Navigator North American NT Map Update 2009."
One version is titled "City Navigator North America 2009 MapSource Update."
Almost identical names but they are NOT interchangeable.
I bought the NT version, it arrived from Amazon quickly, but it wouldn't work with my handheld eTrex unit. I called Garmin. They were very helpful, understood immediately, sent me the correct version at no cost, the replacement arrived in three days, and it works great.
Save yourself some time and call ahead.
