Customer Review: I hope it is worth it
Summary: 2 Stars

As a couple that lives full-time in a motorcoach, we travel quite a bit and rely heavily on our Garmin GPS. After hitting three or four mis-directed POI's, we decided to look into the 2009 update. At least one of the problems we had (a WalMart that was actually an old store, we were told it moved two years ago) is still wrong. The other thing that bothers me is that you need an internet connection to install it.....give me a break. If it wasn't for the cheap price I found on Amazon, and my $15 gift card, I would never have invested my time or money into it...it's just not worth it. Besides, this is a Nuvi 660 that we bought about 18 months ago, and paid over $400 for. I would have expected more out of a company like Garmin.

Customer Review: Save your money
Summary: 2 Stars

I've had my Garmin 330 for over a year with no problems other than the occasional new routing of roads or (my biggest complaint) points of interests not being there. Checking the map version I realized it was loaded with 2006 maps so I was hoping the 2009 maps would be an improvement.

Well, no problems updating and loading the the new version, but so far I don't see any differences. Defunct businesses are still there and missing places are still missing. I'm talking about places that have been changed for 3 or 4 years. I don't see any changes in the roads either.

Bottom line - definitely buy a Garmin if you're looking for a GPS system but if you have one, don't waste your money on this update.

Customer Review: Innacurate direction .5miles off in opposite direction with first use
Summary: 1 Stars

Garmin MapSource City Navigator North America NT Map Update 2009
I purchased this updrade software for my Garmin 330. On the first use for directions to a specific address on an established street in Cincinnati, OH, the software directed my 330 to tell me to turn left on the destination street when I should have turned right. It was fully half a mile off from the true street address. The business owner - once I found the accurate location from a local conveniece store clerk - was full half a mile off in the the opposite direction from the turn that I made. Unfortunately, once you install the product you are stuck with it.
Think twice, thrice about whether you really need to waste the money on this product.

Customer Review: GARMIN Map Update 2009
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are buying this product you already own a Garmin GPS device. With that in mind, you also already know how superior their mapping programs are to ALL other GPS devices on the market. I own an entry level TomTom and my older Garmin blows the TomTom away. I've gotten lost countless times with the TomTom and have actually switched back to my older Garmin for that reason. This update provides current maps of North America. I've driven in some pretty obscure areas here in my native state of Ohio and the maps have never gotten me lost. The detail is spot on and this update comes with my highest recommendation. If they could price these updates around $40 or less I'd be happier, but that's my only criticism.

Customer Review: Garmin Charger killed my GPS
Summary: 3 Stars

After purchasing a new Garmin NUVI 760 which worked beautifully for days, I thought I would post how my unit also DIED - totally dead after I purchased a Garmin A/C adapter. The GPS unit worked perfectly for days. I plugged it in to charge overnight and it was completely dead. I also find it too coincidental that the thing was working fine until it was charged with (not an off-brand), but a Garmin A/C house charger. Sounds like others have had a similar problem. I have also experienced maping problems. Stores that have been gone for years, and new ones that should be known not there. The reviews do say Garmin is superior to Magellan and TomTom, but the jury may still be out on that one.
