Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of GTMax 3-Pack Premium Reusable LCD Screen Protector with Lint Cleaning Cloth for iPod touch 1G (Clear)Customer Review: Cheap Yet Durable Summary: 5 Stars
The deal seemed too good to be true. Only $3 for three reusable screen protectors? I decided to buy them anyway. $3 wasn't too much of a detriment to my budget.
I have yet to regret my purchase. The screen protectors arrived two days after I placed my order, and in decent condition. I was a bit dissatisfied with the fact that there was dust on the protectors already, but I applied them with soap and water, so that wasn't an issue.
They are fairly stiff pieces of film, so they are scratch-resistant to some extent. They don't smudge too easily either. They fit both the 1G and 2G Touches, but they leave a small perimeter uncovered, so these are best used with a case.
Overall, these are a great package for their price. From some angles, they look oily, but that can be disregarded.
tl;dr Version: You pay $3 for three screen protectors that fit both the 1G and 2G iPod Touches. They are durable and don't smudge easily, but they leave part of the device uncovered and look oily from certain angles. Overall, though, they offer excellent protection, and you can't really argue with the price tag.
Customer Review: Excellent, with one caveat Summary: 4 Stars
The product was as advertised and high quality, so no problems at all. The problem really comes from installation, as it is trickier then putting a piece of saran wrap over a bowl without it clinging to itself. You are likely to waste your first of the three protective slips by getting one or more bubbles of air between the iPod and the screen.
I had 2 bubbles, both appear to be from the tiniest of particles that was on the screen when I put the screen on. It was probably a speck of dust or grain of pollen. I then thought the only way I could get the cover on without getting airborne debris on the device would be if I did it in a clean room. Then I remember that in clean rooms they use sticky pads as floor mats when entering to remove dust from the soles of your boots. So for my next effort, I am going to do something similar. **TIP:** immediately after cleaning the screen with a lint-free microfiber, use a Post-it Note to catch any pollen or dust which the cleaning cloth may not have removed, then immediately apply the protective cover. This should reduce the chance of getting a bubble due to nearly microscopic debris.
Customer Review: Skimpy Protector - Not as Advertised Summary: 1 Stars
I bought a 3-pack of screen protectors from Eforcity (B000XHS4SK) in March'08.
For Apple iPod Touch 8GB 16GB Premium Ultra- Clear Reusable LCD Screen Protector with Lint Cleaning Cloth.
What they sent me is a different product, not as described in the listing. It is made by a company named Insten. It doesn't cover the entire face of my iPod Touch, and it doesn't have a hole for the Home button as illustrated in the Amazon listing. Instead, the protector barely covers the active display portion.
I e-mailed the vendor twice, seeking a replacement -- they ignored my e-mails and failed to reply. It appears that Customer Service is not high on their priorities. Fortunately, Amazon's A-to-Z guarantee filled the void. Way to go, Amazon!!
Note that there are a number of different IPT screen protectors available on Amazon, and the various pictures, descriptions, and links aren't always consistent. Some appear to cover the entire front face; others do not. Caveat Emptor.
Customer Review: Really?!?! Summary: 2 Stars
First off, these screens do NOT fit ipod touch first gen. I'm not sure if i missed that in the product info or not, but they are too long, there is a little flap that hangs off the top.
Second, application SUCKS. There was a sticker on the actual screen that didn't come all the way off, so now i have an awkward residue interfering with the touch-interface of my ipod TOUCH. Plus, it is nearly impossible to get all the air bubbles out from underneath the adhesive.
Now, it's not like i haven't had experience applying protective screens. I definitely have, many, many times. This was pretty difficult to do.
Third, it's a really thin screen, so it may not protect the screen from heavy scratching. On the plus side, a thinner screen doesn't interfere with the sensitivity of the touch screen.
overall, I'd invest a few more dollars in a well-fitting, easy-to-apply screen. I became very frustrated with this product and ended up using all three included in one go because they quit sticking after trying to get the air bubbles/residue out so many times.
Customer Review: clear protector Summary: 4 Stars
This clear protector is very clear and it does protect. I had two different kinds before and this is pretty good considering the price. it is a little short for the iPhone 3G on the top but that is not much of a big deal to me.
What I did not like is that there is not a hole for the ear speaker on the iPhone and this muffles the sounds quite a bit. This protector was advertised for the iPod but IT IS NOT useful for the iPhone because you cannot hear the person talking to you very well. I was going to make a small hole but I decided to cut part of the plastic instead. This did not work to my satisfaction because then leaves part of your phone with no cover. I mistakenly thought it would be useful for both.
Overall the protector seems good. I just got it today so I am not sure how long will it last and whether it will really protect my phone from scratches. First impression? Good.
I definitely do NOT recommend this protector for the iPhone but it is well worth the money for iPods. It will protect the screen but for now I have to test for durability.
