Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of GPX C3948BI Ultra-Slim CD Player with 40-Second Anti-Shock Protection and Car KitCustomer Review: Got What I Expected for a Good Price Summary: 4 Stars
I'm the mom of a 10-year-old who is just discovering his own tastes in music. I wanted a well-priced product for casual use - on the bus and in the car. He was thrilled with this item as a birthday present. From reading other reviews, I knew to get him extra earphones and batteries right off the bat. I got him a CaseLogic case to go with it so he has plenty of room to store CD's extra batteries, etc. He thinks it looks really cool. I am pleased. Thanks to all others that wrote reviews so I knew what to expect. If you are looking for a cool-looking item for a casual listener (no jogging, etc) this is a great deal, especially if you need the car kit (which I do).
Customer Review: Don't waste your money Summary: 1 Stars
I am a real person who does not work for, or have any relation to the company GPX. I, like many of you, wanted a bargain CD player. You get what you pay for. This CD player worked fine for about 2 months, then, it went crazy. The play button didn't play, the stop button didn't even stop. It didn't spin fast enough and the CD's weren't recognized. The ESP caused more skipping than it fixed. I don't know who wrote all of those glorifying reviews but they don't have the same product that I do. Yes, the blue color is nice. That is why I give the product one star. It looks nice. If you want a decorative object, buy it. If you want a CD player, look elsewhere.
Customer Review: Amazing Product!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have had this for at least three years now, and it is still working as if I bought it yesterday! When I first saw it I thought it would break in a few months because it looks relatively cheap. But no, the player never broke and I have even dropped it a few times -- on the cafeteria floor. The only thing that I don't have anymore are the headphones, but those were actually cheap. I think they took about 6 months to a year to break? They still worked fine, but they had broken off from the tracking. Anyways, it's a really amazing piece even without the headphones -- plus I was able to get a new pair that I enjoy more.Completely worth buying all in all. ^.^!!
Customer Review: Lovin' it so far! Summary: 4 Stars
I just received my gpx discman and so far it has been working great. However, I agree with all the others who say that the headphones bring down the quality of the player. Since I just received my product yesterday, I'm probably going to go out and buy some other headphones.Aside from the quality of the headphones, they look a little silly too. The CD player looks awesome, I just think the headphones look a little crappy. All these complaints don't sound like I would give it a four, but the main unit, the cd player, works great. The ESP works well. I would recommend this unit if your willing to spend a few extra bux on some new headphones.
Customer Review: GPX...BEWARE OF RETAIL LAUGHTER Summary: 1 Stars
I worked at a rather well-known books-movies-music-games store a year back, and upon a customer purchasing anything GPX, we either chuckled or groaned. Chuckled because we knew that the GPX line of technology is made for the customer that values price over usability and quality (laymen's terms...GPX is ....), and groaned, because we knew we'd see the unit back in the store for a full refund a day or so later. If you're heart's set, by all means get this player..but if you see yourself playing with it a year or so down the line, forget it. Try Panasonic (the Shockwave line is great(!), but one of the most expensive) or Sony, who is good, too.
