Customer Review: Works better than others

This translator is better than another, less expensive gizmo I used to use. It translates back and forth between English and Spanish and has a pretty extensive library. Also incorporates a few little games to help you build your vocabulary. It will also speak the correct pronounciation in a clear voice. Downside is the backlit display is necessary to use in most situations and it keeps going off after what seems like 20 seconds. That gets annoying. For now this machine is decent. It will slide in a wide pants pocket but it is a little bulky compared to others. I can't help but think in a few years somebody will leapfrog this technology with a superior machine.Customer Review: Dissenting view

I'm the dissenting review here. For me, the screen contrast is extremely poor, so bad that I don't find the dictionary worth using. I'm very disappointed because the other reviews were very positive and I like all of the benefits of quick, electronic access.
Also, WARNING: My dictionary was provided through WorldWide Distributors in Tarzana, CA. It came with an invoice and contact information. I tried to contact WorldWide at their 800 number several times to find out how to return it, but no one answers the phone. I also sent an email five days ago, and no one has responded. Looks like I'm out $80 and no way to recover it.

I have been through quite a few translators and this is way better than all of the rest. It provides idioms, phrases, and conjugations of all the tenses with their English equivelants. For all of the people that said that they can't see the screen, it is probably because you have to go into settings and adjust the contrast; it does pronounce the Spanish words, unlike some reviewers said; and it does give you phrases (probably more than you'll ever need!). You just need to learn how to use it. The only think bad that I can say about this item is that the cover falls of when you open it, but that is just a minor flaw.Customer Review: Very good for an egotist

I am most dissapointed that this dictionary won't conjugate verbs beyond the first person singular..it has all the tenses alright but only in the one form which really doesn't give you a clue about how the third person plural might look or sound..I bought it thinking it would be the most complete translator around but find it very lacking and can't believe it's meant to be this way except that my friend has one and it's the very same..i would certainly reccommend this product to anyone who is a complete egotist and only wants to talk about me me me...otherwise better keep looking ....Customer Review: Great concept, poor functionality

I love the possibilities an electronic dictionary offers but the mechanics of this one has a lot of problems. The screen does not have enought contrast no matter how you adjust it. If you use the backlight it shuts off, in fact it shuts off on its own all the time. Very frustrating. Whenever it shuts off unexpectedly you also loose all of your preferences (like large type). The voice part is really not worth the extra money. The pronunciations are so digitized it does not help much. It is extremely convenient to have an electronic translator in your pocket, just not this one.
