I decided to purchase the flip after a co-worker told me how much he loves it and that it's an every parent must have! I eventually want to purchase a really nice HD camcorder but in the meantime I figured I would give the 30 minute flip a try since amazon had it for so cheap. I LOVE it!!! It is so easy to use, and simple to upload videos onto your computer. You can snap pictures out of your videos and make movie mixes.
This product is so much better than a bulky camcorder because I can carry it everywhere with me, its only slightly bigger than my cell phone. I've caught all my 5 month old daughters cute moments on video now and definitely recommend this camcorder!

I bought this for my older son, but it was his 8 year-old brother who took to it immediately and started filming his own Star Wars lego movies to load to You Tube. Don't bother for a video camera with all kinds of features when a flip takes excellent video as easy as point-and-shoot like a camera.
You can upload videos easily to the Flip user's website or You Tube, and even create still pictures from single frames out of the video. I couldn't believe how quick the kids figured it out. Best of all, I got it on Amazon at the time on a special promo for only $54 and free shipping through Prime.

Small, Light, Simple and Fun! Each of those deserve a star. Throw it in your pocket and have it ready quickly. Yes, it only holds 30 minutes of video but these little camcorders shouldn't be for filming epics. The clips download easy and fast so 30 minutes is fine unless you're keeping a video diary while away from your computer for a month or more. If you are planning on filming the kid's entire music recital get a big camcorder and brew a bigger pot of coffee to keep your guests awake. But for quick video clips on the run, the flip video 30 is terrific. Oh, buy a tiny (and light) tripod to help keep the shots from shaking. I read quite a few of the reviews for this product before I purchased it as an Amazon "Deal of the Day." The reviews were right on. This is an excellent, easy to use video recorder. I bought to keep in my purse and take video of my grandkids and other events on the spot. It is simple to use for the technically challenged and very compact. I took video of an ice skating show, and the video came out fantastic, even in the dim theater lighting. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that it has a 30-minute video limit, which isn't a problem for me, versus the 60 minute product. I just love this thing. I really like my Flip ultra, except for the fact that the record button has been unreliable from day 1. Sometimes it starts when I push the button, other times it needs to be pushed numerous times to start recording, causing me to miss a part of what I wanted to film. After reading several complaints about the meager 90 day warrenty and lack of customer support & service for the Flip, I've decided to keep it because the replacement might be worse quality or a used/refurbished camera. I only paid $70 for mine; had I paid full price I'd be more PO'd. many customers are disappointed with this product. I suspect mine will crap out in a few months as well.
