Has been functioning since I started using it (more than 6 months). Have not had any hiccups at all. Software works, it's simple to operate (point and shoot).
Great for blogging or youtubing. Also, if you're a person who likes to video some of your travel adventures, it's good because it's cheap and you don't have to worry about losing it.
You're gonna need a good amount of light in order to make something look good, but after all the sensor is tiny in this thing. Similarly the mic is not good but it's what can be expected from a device such as this.
The main draw is the portability. If you're going to be recording stuff from home, you could use a much cheaper webcam.

I found this little camcorder to be handy, convenient, lightweight, easy to tote in my purse with decent quality. Not what you would get with an expensive camcorder, but exactly what I wanted - something so portable that I could have it with me, ready on a moment's notice. Limitations would be only what would be expected in a low cost point-and-shoot camcorder - narrow zoom range and non-rechargeable battery. Uses 2 AA and they die without warning so you must be prepared with spares. Instructions were scanty - probably assumed to be so simple it wasn't needed - online support was very helpful with follow-up. I recommended to my daughter who also purchased one. I ordered the Flip camcorder when I saw that it was on sale for $50.00 -- I thought to myself that I couldn't buy a decent still camera for that price, and I could use it for both still photos and for short recordings of videos. It arrived in a few days, and I'm ecstatically happy with it.
The interface is simplicity itself - it's so easy to use that my 10-year-old son used it at a wedding to record the antics of a 2-year-old boy. The supplied software works fine, and it works like a charm with my MacBook's iMovie software as well. It seems very rugged and well made, thus far.

I decided to buy this device after first watching the test shots on Youtube. I have to say that it is everything I wanted. The only thing I do not like is that there is only one function on the camcorder and that is to shoot videos. I thought there'd be a way for me to take actual photos but there isn't. It is so simple to use that it may feel a little complex when you first get it but it really is just as easy as it looks.
It is adorable, sleek and lightweight. It looks expensive but as you can see, costs next to nothing. It comes with a cute carrying case and all the cords needed to transport your footage to a TV or computer. I would strongly recommend this product.

I have an expensive hand-held video camera and although it is easy to use it is still cumbersome and if I want to e-mail videos of my twins to friends & family I have to buy some special software to make the files small enough for e-mail. So, I bought the Flip and it is EASY to use, you can grab it, turn it on, and start shooting all with one hand. Plus saving videos onto your computer for your own use or for e-mailing is a snap. The software is built right in. I am extremely happy with the Flip. And because it's only about as big as a cell phone, when I take my twins to the park I actually stick it into my back pants pocket so that I can whip it out and start taping at any special moment.
