Customer Review: Not for large books!
Summary: 2 Stars

I purchased this product in the expectation that it was rather large (per the picture showing a big book resting on it). Unfortunately it only holds books at a depth of 1.5 inches, which is useless for the programming books, and other textbooks I own. Also the stand doesn't have a lock, it is instead combined with the page holders on the front to create a rather cumbersome mechanism. The lack of any real helpful adjustments also made this purchase a regretful one. If you are going to use books of any real thickness, look elsewhere as I know I just wasted $10.

Customer Review: design matters, so does size
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a very cool product made with just three pieces of stainless steel.

It folds up into a very small space and holds a small to medium sized book in a near-vertical, open-face position with a certain panache.

But if you're working from a very thick book, you need a different bookstand. The convenience disappears when you have to be finessing some of the pages of a large book onto the outside of the vertical 'placeholder' and the rest of them on the inside.

I like the idea. 'Shame they don't make a large size, too.

Customer Review: I was mistaken
Summary: 1 Stars

My original purpose for this book stand was to hold open my college textbooks, BUT this stand is not meant for them. The stand is way to small to begin with and the hooks are not large enough to put a textbook. After trying all my reference books and textbooks on the stand i realized this book stand was not meant for the student. Also, the stand itself feels flimsy at best, probably because it couldn't support the weight of my textbooks. Good thing i bought a larger one even though I wasted my money on this one.

Customer Review: Good for small hardcover books, not meant for textbooks
Summary: 3 Stars

This cover is only good for small books with hardcovers. If the books is paperback, it is pretty difficult to read with this stand, and it will make you very frustrated. Same goes for thick textbooks (ex. college textbooks). Big books tend to make this stand collapse over, and you will be very frustrated using this for textbooks.

Overall:
Pros: works well with small/medium hardcover books.
Cons: the design of the stand is not meant for big textbooks, and small paperback books.

Customer Review: Great stand for the money!
Summary: 5 Stars

For the money, this handy device does just what you would expect. I use it to stand up large(1000+ page)text books and it works great. Takes a little adjustment to balance it but once you get the hang of it it holds the book steady on a flat surface. It folds for easy storage or travel. The only drawback is sometimes it's difficult to readjust to another chapter without removing the book from the stand. As a bonus, my 12-year old son seems to love to play with it and he has yet to break it!
