Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Fellowes Wire Study Stand-Silver (10024)Customer Review: Best small to mid-sized book stand. Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best book stand I've found for small to medium-sized books (up to 1.5, maybe 2, inches) in thickness. I already have a flat panel-type stand for my large textbooks to lay on. I needed a stand that could hold my smaller books up, while still holding pages back so that both my hands could be free to write or type. This is the best for that. I've never had a bookstand hold up a book AND hold back pages as well. Most have just flimsy edge pieces that don't quite hold a book's pages back for easy reading. I've done a lot of research on what bookstand to get & found this one fit my purposes the best. Plus, it's a deal at under $6! Great value product! Highly recommended!
Customer Review: Great book holder Summary: 4 Stars
I have been looking everywhere for a holder for textbooks. I'm a student and I spend many hours hunched over my textbooks, destroying my back in the process. This is small, sturdy and perfect for textbooks. My only problem is that it doesn't accommodate courseware as easily (photocopies of readings bound together) because of the lack of a firm back. Softcover textbooks are no problem, but anything "flimsy" takes a little creativity (ie, putting a clipboard behind it so it stays up). Since that really isn't the use this product was intended for, I don't fault it at all - and at the price? Crazy!
Just need to find a way to ship it to Canada...
Customer Review: Almost, but not quite Summary: 4 Stars
I like the idea that you can lay this copy stand flat and store it when not in use, and that you can even put a book in the brackets and it will hold it open while you type. (they give you around 1 1/2 inches). I also like that it's simple in it's design, all metal with plastic end pieces. The one flaw with this is that they need a piece going up through the center and topping it by about five inches since regular paper just folds over the top of the stand. I did remedy this by putting a metal ruler through it and it works fine. But even so, what was Fellowes thinking when they designed it? Just that one piece and it would be a five star.
Customer Review: book holder? I use this to hold my laptop upright at eye level Summary: 5 Stars
I use this holder as a laptop stand, and it works great. I have more usable desk space and my laptop display and monitor are the same height. Currently I have three stands holding the following laptops HP tx1000, Dell D630, and Dell 8000. Works great as an economical alternative to more expensive laptop stands. The stand is strong, however my Dell Inspiron 8000 is the heaviest laptop I would safely use with one stand. I wouldn't recommend using one stand for those huge "desktop replacement" laptops. The stand also looks very good, and stable with the black rubber feet. By the way what are books? Maybe I'll ask Google. :)
Customer Review: not very good for school. hard to turn pages Summary: 2 Stars
I didn't buy this. My ex got it for me. It looks like it's a quality build and appears well designed.
But it's not very useful for school. It can't hold books very well. especially text books. it's very hard to turn pages when the book is in the stand. i had to constantly take the book out of the stand to turn the page. very irritating after awhile.
maybe it's useful for cookbooks and for holding sheet music.
I got the Easi Reader which costs a lot after shipping but that works far better. I can hold all sizes of books and can still turn the page when the book is in the stand.
