Now that I've finally learned to read and follow directions, I know why a couple of shredders crapped out on me so quickly. Every time I empty the waste bucket, I spray a bit of this lube on the cutters, and run them forward and reverse. So far, my latest shredder is running smooth as silk, with this simple bit of prevent. maintenance.
The oil itself seems very good, no smell or spatter when I'm lubing the cutters. And a little bit goes a long way.

I thought my confetti shredder was at its last breath. I had to keep reversing and forwarding after it kept getting stuck. Luckily I noticed the Need To Oil sign on the top. I bought a bottle of this stuff, and now shredder is back to normal.
There was one review here that complained they need to buy a nozzle. No you don't. Just cut the tip of the closed nozzle that it comes with. Be careful not to throw the red tip cover away.

Great shredder! Doesn't jam, shreds quickly, and is surprisingly quiet.

This is the best priced shredder lubricant out there and it's from a shredder manufacturing company. Though there are other options to lubricate your shredder (such as lubricated paper), there is no substitute for the real thing. All you do is pour this directly onto your shredder and it will keep the blades from rusting and losing it's edge. I bought a Fellows shredder a few years back and have returned to buy another. The reason is because of the Fellows oil. The shredder was great but the oil gums up over time eventually ruining the unit. It will take 5 or 6 years but the oil will kill the shredder for sure! So I intend, with the new shredder, to obtain some non-gumming lube at the hardware store. Not going to make the same mistake. No star!
