The item was not what I was really expecting (I am still a little uncertain as to what exactly I was expecting) but I have found it to be really useful. It holds up my super mondo family history book that has over 900 pages with ease and I like the fact that you can adust the height so if I move from a place where the book needs to be pointed up more I can change it so it is easiest for me to read. I would reccomend this product for any who need something heavy like a text book or family history book (not a full unabridged dictionary big) that they are looking at or typing from.Customer Review: no major problems

i have had this book holder for about a month and find it very useful - i use it for large and small books (largest book being a pathology textbook ~650 pagesRapid Review Pathology: With STUDENT CONSULT Online Access). the only drawback that i can think of is that if you try to write in the book while its in the stand, the stand will move, so it's not good if you want to take extensive notes in the book. for the price, (i got it for less than $7) it's a great deal.Customer Review: Flimsy book stand which cannot function as a book stand

Even though the bookstand is made of fairly sturdy plastic, the page hooks (2 plastic flip ups to position the both pages on the stand when you position the book on the book stand) get loose after a few months of use. Now, it cannot even hold the page in place. What good does it do if I have to hold the page manually or put some make-shift item to position the page while using this book stand. I will go with more sturdier wire mesh type of book stand for the next purchase. Fellowes Book Lift Copyholder - For Use with Textbooks and Large Manuals
I read the negative reviews and agree this product is somewhat flimsy; however, it's exactly what I expected because of its great price. Just don't handle it roughly and you'll be fine.
It does a fine job of holding my copy, manuals, and large paperback school books, so I'm pleased and would recommend this item for this purpose.

I recently acquired this product & love it. But I have to admit I don't use it for its main intended purpose. As a booklift, other reviews don't seem to like it much. But as a copy holder, this is the best product out there! I work with large stacks of paper on a daily basis & most copyholders have such slim bottom lips that they can only hold a few pages at a time. This copyholder can hold my entire massive stack & the little tabs keep the pages for slipping away. Makes my day of data entry so much easier!
