Customer Review: Decent bookholder for the price

I bought this as a present for my friend who likes to read. It performs according to advertisement. That is, it does a decent job of holding larger books and the adjustability is nice. As mentioned in some of the negative reviews, the pegs do come of easily, but they can be put back on relatively easily too. Overall, it's still probably the best deal for the price range.
Pros:
- Good value
- Holds open books of most sizes and style
- Folds up into a nice compact piece of plastic that you can keep in your bag
- Material seems sturdy (not the crack-able hard plastic)
Cons:
- Pegs fall off
- Kind of difficult to adjust the height, but this doesn't need to be done too often

In the ten minutes since I've had it out of the box two pieces have fallen off. More importantly, It can't handle large manuals as advertised. (The reason I purchased this particular book holder) My 1000 page manual only fits if you happen to only want to read the middle chapter. Based on that I estimate that this is a totally worthless product to anyone needing to go through a manual or training book more than five or six hundred pages. If you don't anticipate needing it for a book that big then just glue the rubber feet on, keep an eye on the page retainers (these are the parts that fell off) and you should be ok. As for me, I'm off to read Amazon's return policy and see if I can get rid of this useless hunk of plastic.Customer Review: Holds a text book, a magazine, or a wireless keyboard

I chose this one because I needed one that would be big enough to hold a text book or a wireless keyboard. I also wanted to be able to use it with magazines without them falling out. This one does the job. (I actually have this on top of the existing magazine spot on my exercise bike since the one provided is too small.) I don't think it would be that great for single documents though - if you plan to use it next to your monitor to hold up documents you would probably need a clip to hold sheets of paper in place. This bookstand is nice. It's not complicated and does a fine job of keeping books open. Handles "light" textbooks well and I have it holding my study bible open most of the time which is really big compared to the "light" textbooks that I also use it for.
I have only one concern with this. The page holder clips are rather sharp and if you press them in all the way, sometimes it marks and scratches the pages, leaving the paper a little shorn. But if the book doesn't have a propensity to close itself, you can clip it just enough to keep it open and everything is fine. I did mark up a few pages of my bible though.
I would definitely purchase this bookstand again for it's price ($11.95).

Fellowes Book Lift Copyholder - For Use with Textbooks and Large Manuals
I received this a couple of weeks ago and have used it periodically. For the price, it is a good tool for books up to just short of 1 3/4 inches thick. I don't know that it qualifies for large manuals and have not found it helpful for that, with the tabs on the bottom of the product. The tabs are about 1 1/4 inches and suppose they could be manipulated to accomodate larger reading material, but have not tried that yet. I would recommend the product with the above limitation.
