I bought this product as it is one of the few with both an Ipod connection and a projector. I agree with other reviewers that the lack of alarm volume control is a major oversight but it can be overcome.
I bought this to wake up to my ipod for an alarm. Before I put my alarm songs into my ipod I simply use a free Mp3 editor to decrease the decibals by approx 30%. Then when the alarm goes off at a high level it is the perfect volume. If you want to wake up to nature sounds then simply put some nature sounds on your ipod (I use the nature sounds on the product with the sleep function to put myself to sleep). This is obviously more work than it should be but it's an easy way to overcome the only problem with an otherwise excellent product. If you want to wake up to the radio it might be too loud.
The projector works very well and the display is very bright (almost too bright but it comes with a dimmer and off function). The sound quality is excellent and allows the user to use it as a small stereo as well.
