Customer Review: HMDI Cable Information from hdmi.org
Summary: 2 Stars

I also purchased an expensive cable for my new Samsung LN46A650 and it looks fine using my Comcast box as well as our new Xbox. I needed an additional cable, but before buying, decided to check up on HDMI cable specs. While inexpensive cables can be found on Amazon and elsewhere, to get cables that meet the latest standards, read the FAQ's here first:

http://www.hdmi.org/learningcenter/faq.aspx

Specs on the cable listed do not specify which standard (1 or 2) this cable is built to. Here is the difference:

Recently, HDMI Licensing, LLC announced that cables would be tested as Standard or High-Speed cables.

Standard (or "category 1") cables have been tested to perform at speeds of 75Mhz, which is the equivalent of a 1080i signal.

High Speed (or "category 2") cables have been tested to perform at speeds of 340Mhz, which is the highest bandwidth currently available over an HDMI cable and can successfully handle 1080p signals including those at increased color depths and/or increased refresh rates. High-Speed cables are also able to accommodate higher resolution displays, such as WQXGA cinema monitors (resolution of 2560 x 1600).

For those of us with new LCD, DLP or Plasma TV's, we should be looking for "Category 2" cables. They can still be found for online prices better than what we pay at the retail stores. Just check the specs before buying. I rated this a 2-star because no specs were provided.

Customer Review: I have had this for over a Year - Excellent for 1080P
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had two of these for over a year now. I have these connected to my upconverting dvd player and comcast box, they do an awesome job transmitting signals.

They great thing is I had this $40 gold plated cable from circuit city before I bought these. So I did a comparison to see if there is any loss in quality and wow no diffrence!!, I even took pictures of my TV screen, by pausing the picture; no noticable difference. I could not believe how a $1.50 cable and an expensive one would perform on the same level.

So I looked up online and cnet techies too said the same, they tested cheap ones with name brand ones on a 120 HZ / 1080P with almost impossible to diffrentiate performance.

Pros:

Great Value for Money
Product is of good quality
I have bought from DVI gear and E forcity both work awesome

Cons:

I can think of none, if anyone has defective product simply return and ask for a replacement. I cant think of why this would not satisfy anyone

Update 6/29/10
I HAVE HAD THIS FOR 2 YEARS NOW, THIS CABLE IS GREAT BARGAIN, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND LIKE I SAID, LOOK WHAT EVEN THE CNET EXPERST SAY. I AM GOING TO BUY ANOTHER ONE FOR MY HOME THEATER

Customer Review: Broke after 3 months, horrible customer service!
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this HDMI cable from bargaincell thinking that it was a good deal for the money. Well, you get what you pay for. While it worked very well initially, the cable started fading to white and then stopped working entirely after 3 months of very light use. I for one, don't want to have to replace my HDMI cable 4 times a year (while cheap initially, those costs add up quickly). There are HDMI cables now available from bestbuy for more reasonable prices than in the past--go with a real cable.

When I called to discuss this with bargaincell, they refused to do anything as it had been more than 30 days since I placed the order (they don't even give you the 30 days after you receive the order!). After calling numerous times and being transferred between 4 different people, I finally was able to speak with Sandy, who claimed to be a supervisor. Sandy told me that no, they do not stand behind their products for more than 30 days, that there were no exceptions to this rule, and that I could not speak with her supervisor. I have never interacted with someone who answers a customer service number who was so adverse to actually providing any sort of customer service!

Avoid this product, but most of all avoid this company at all costs!

Customer Review: Worked for 7 Months, Good Buy
Summary: 3 Stars

Well, as the old adage goes, "You get what you pay for." In this case, I paid about $5 including shipping for this product in November 2008. It's now June 2009 and the cable has given up the ghost.

I had it connected to my 24" Samsung monitor via HDMI out on my PC, and it worked wonderfully for both that and my Blu-Ray player. Last week, however, I started to run into problems. Blue specks were distorting the picture on my monitor and causing the displayed picture to do some really funky things. I suspected it could be my graphics card or monitor, but it turns out it was the cable.

I don't regret purchasing this cable at all because it was such a good price and it lasted for so long. I do have to warn any potential customers, however, that you may have to get a replacement in 6-8 months. This is a cheap cable, and it wasn't manufactured to last as long as ones you will pay more for.

I'm not recommending going with a Monster HDMI cable, but I do have to let you know that a $20 investment in a name-brand or higher quality cable might be in your best interest.

So, I'm back to the 4ft DVI cable that came with my PC, which should suffice for now as DVI and HDMI can send a crisp HD signal to my monitor.

Customer Review: get it get it get it
Summary: 5 Stars

get this product because i know there is alot of you out there that really appreciate hi def gaming. okay so i got an xbox 360 with the hdmi input and a hi def tv. i read alot of reviews. i learned hdmi is a digital connection either you get the signal or you don't. i was a little skeptical when i clicked the purchase button. i read the reviews after buying it. stupid right. after i read the review i felt better. when it came i plugged it up into the tv an almost lost the level i was playing because im not used to the quality being so crystal clear. im just playing but this cable does work like a charm. get it get it get it. early this year<2009> my brother bought a monster cable for a $120.00 for a 4ft cable.it still works but i came on amazon saw this cable and bought 2 of these. one came 3 days after i placed the order and one came 2 days after the previous one. so you can see its quick cheap process. i paid 3 cents for it. i have a video review of my xbox 360 including the cable if you want to see it. the link is below.
