I purchased the Energizer Rechargeable batteries more than a year ago for my sons' Nintendo Wii Remotes, the Wii Sensor bar, my digital camera and other household uses. I have not purchased batteries in an entire year; that is exactly how long these batteries have lasted us. I've read most of these reviews and you have to keep in mind that these are not normal batteries; they can't just lie around. If you don't charge them, you get no juice. When they are not in use they should be KEPT ON THE CHARGER. If you charge them PROPERLY, you will get more than your batteries' full use. If you use an item frequently that requires batteries, these batteries are well worth the investment.Customer Review: re-charge

So far these have been great batteries. We use them in our remotes & 1 or 2 or our sons toys. They've held their charge for several weeks now in the toys & since the remotes don't use much power, I expect longer use for those.
NOTE: You need to use the overnight charger, the NiMH version, not the quick charger. If you use the quick chargers they won't fully recharge. The chargers MUST be for the type of rechargeable battery you have.
A great way to save money in the long run. Great batteries for a good price, fast shipment as well. I'm getting another pack soon as we seem to need a few more...

It is very convenient to have spare rechargeable battereies on hand. This way you always have fresh batteries for your electronics. I am currently in Iraq and I use these batteries for my headlamp and Bose noise cancelling headphones. These batteries seem to hold a charge longer that traditional batteries and it is very convenient to know that you always have a fresh set of batteries available. It is the worst thing for your batteries to die and not have a spare. Energizer rechargeable batteries last for decent periods of time in kids "Shake 'em up" cars, "Geo Trax" trains and buildings, computer mice and cordless keyboards. My only knock against them is that they seem to lose their charge while sitting around to be used again. Instead of fully charging them then setting them aside until ready to use, I wait until I need them and charge them over night - an inconvenience when there is a sad child involved! This is true for both the "AA" and "AAA" sizes.Customer Review: Works very well

I have no idea why some people have such a hard problem with these batteries. They work great for me. I've been using the same AA's and AAA's for over a year and still no problem. I use them in my wireless keyboard, mouse, xbox controllers, and various remotes. I haven't bought a battery since. For the people that rate these poorly, you must have gotten bad batteries, bad charger or you're putting them in upside down.
I would recommend.
