Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Energizer NH15BP-4 Rechargeable AA Battery 4 PackCustomer Review: Finally some good rechargable batteries Summary: 4 Stars
No more NiCd rechargables THANK-YOU! These new batteries are a great replacement for the constant purchase-and-throw-out cycle of battery life I am so tired of.As Sean Kelly pointed out they are a speck fatter than normal batteries. But, haven't had any problem with them, and didn't even know until I read Sean's review. They are a little tight in a Mini Mag Light, but if you want to use them in there you can either give 'em a good shake to get them out, or cut off the section of label that overlaps and they will fit fine. My Mini Mag Lights come apart very easily so I can't see a real problem there. One problem I have had is my GPS doesn't really like the voltage or something, so the battery level doesn't read correctly. I have tried all of the battery type settings and none seem to match. The GPS still works fine, it just doesn't show the correct battery life.
Customer Review: Highest Capacity Batteries out of 4 brands tested.... Summary: 5 Stars
My son's school science project this year was to test a set of rechargeable batteries. He conducted two tests on Duracell, Sony, Energizer and Lenmar: 1. Long term storage test where the batteries were fully charged and stored for two weeks before measuring the voltage. 2. Capacity test where randomly selected two batteries were fully charged and put on a regular flashlight until a complete discharge happened. The first test was inconclusive. He repeated the capacity test mutiple times and the clear winner was the Energizer NH15BP-4 and the Duracell came in second. BTW, the manufacture's claim on the overall capacity was not even close to the measured capacity.
They were not used over at least 6 months or longer to see if the good performance can be maintained, but I am sold on this battery. I will only buy them from now once my other batteries die.
Customer Review: Shockingly good performance Summary: 4 Stars
I bought a bunch of Energizer's AA ACCU NiMH rechargeable batteries to power a halogen bicycle light and LEGO Mindstorms robots. Their performance has exceeded my expectations. The bicycle light seems as bright as it ever was with alkaline batteries, affording good visibility during night time cycling. And stopping play---er, experimentation---with the LEGO robots for recharging has yet to be a problem. However, I do have to issue this warning: these batteries are slightly fatter than standard AA batteries. I tried using them in a Mini Mag Light. After I got one battery in the light's barrel, I realized---too late---that I'd never get the batteries back out. I ended up destroying the Mini Mag Light in order to retrieve the batteries. If your application is cramped for space, beware! If they do fit, expect good energy for a good long time.
Customer Review: To high self discharge rate Summary: 2 Stars
As with a number of other reviews, my experence with these batterys was disappointing. They worked fine at first, but even when new, I noticed that they would be dead after a month or so. But as I continued to use the batterys, this problem got progressivly worse. By the time the batterys had about 30 charge cycles, afully charged set barly lasted a week sitting unused.
If I have a planned shoot with my camera (a Canon powershot a530) the batters still work ok charging them the night before the shoot. But if the camera has been sitting around a cuple of weeks and I want to take some spur of the moment photos, I keep some disposable lithium batterys on hand. I also take the disposable lithiums as backups when I am out shooting.
I am going to serch for a different brand of rechargables after my experence with these!!
Customer Review: Used Batteries!!! Not New! BEWARE!!!! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought 2 packages of these for my son's Shake and Go Speedway. Afterwards, I realized that I would need 2 more batteries for the race track, so I went and picked up an additional package of the same 4 batteries from Wal-Mart. I put the Wal-Mart batteries in one car, and the Amazon batteries in the other and the track itself. It was very obvious that the "Wal-Mart car" ran faster and farther than the "Amazon Car." The Amazon-run car sounded like it was dying compared to the other car. Also, the Amazon batteries were much harder to open, because the plastic was SUPERGLUED together!!! Rechargeable batteries lose a little power every time they need recharged. You can tell that these had been used and recharged for quite a while before being repackaged and resold. The price was too good to be true, and I fell for it.
