Customer Review: Actually bought them at Carrefore in Beijing but still work great
Summary: 4 Stars

I had actually purchased these at Carrefore (Wal-Mart like store) in China along with a similar charger, except created for the Chinese voltage, when I was studying abroad in Beijing after I kept going through alkaline ones the way a kid goes through candy on Halloween.

A year later they still work great even after switching to using an old NiCd/NiMH charger after I came home since the China charger was designed for 220 rather then 120. While the charger refuses to give me a green light that they are done no matter how long I leave them in there as long as I leave them in there for as long as I used to, app. avg. 7 hours, they work fine.

Though it does take a while for my camera to charge the flash again though it always took that long so I'm thinking it's the camera. I've got a Nikon Coolpix 7600.

They still work and even if I don't use my camera they last for weeks. I had them in the camera for weeks before actually using the camera on a recent trip to The Getty Villa to take pictures and despite a whole afternoon/evening of pictures (1130ish till 9ish) the batteries are still fine and I haven't gotten an alert for low power.

These are definitely better then the alkaline were.

Customer Review: Great for all around use in all types of devices
Summary: 4 Stars

I have been using Energizer NiMh batteries for years. I recently purchased these because they have a higher power rating (2500mAh) as opposed to my older batteries (1800mAh). I primarily use the AA batteries to power wireless controllers for video game consoles. Their performance varies depending on the controller I use them in, but overall it beats buying regular batteries. Using them also reduces consumption and helps keep regular batteries out of landfills.

I recommend charging and using them immediately. I have found, if you charge them, and let them sit for as little as a week, they will lose part of their charge. I have a large Energizer charging base that charges all sizes, not just AA batteries, but I leave a set of these in the charger all the time, so they are fully-charged when I need them. Keep an extra set for a complete swap, because they could take at least 4 hours to charge completely. If you need 2, buy 4. If you need 4, buy 8, and so forth.

On average, in terms of hours, they last about 75% as long as regular batteries, so I cannot complain about their performance at all. If you don't use them in about 3-4 weeks, however, they will need to be recharged.

Customer Review: another victim . . .
Summary: 1 Stars

Avoid these batteries!!!!!! My experience is similar to many others. Good initial performance, and then these bloody Energizer batteries can't hold a charge. Unfortunately before I discovered how crappy they really are, I bought a bunch of them, for use in my digital cameras and camera flash units. When these babies fail, performance falls like a lead balloon. They might have enough power to operate a remote control unit, but you can forget about powering anything with a major power draw.

Unfortunately Energizer is extremely successful at getting stores to stock this junk. I get real annoyed whenever I see them on display, because it reminds me of all the money I wasted. They seem to be available everywhere, a constant reminder of a disaster. How does a product that is so bad, get such great distribution and remain available for sale? Energizer probably gets off easy, because it takes a while for their batteries to go bad. By then, it's less likely that people will complain or return them. Blasting them here is like therapy for me.

As an alternative, I strongly recommend Ray-O-Vac Hybrid cells, which have worked very well for me so far.

Customer Review: GREAT!! but MUST use good/correct charger
Summary: 5 Stars

I have about 30 of these AA batteries in our home and they rotate around from place to place with only 2 extra on hand. Have switched to the rechargeable scenario over 3 years ago and stated with 8 then kept buying more as we got more electronics. 3 years later and ALL of these are working great.

A few key points to keep in mind. Not all chargers are equal or good and price does not mean it is any better. I use these genuine Energizer charger and it is not too high priced (often comes in pack with batteries as a set). Rechargeable batteries will drain quite fast compared to regular batteries when just sitting around, so don't charge them and put on shelf expecting fully charged batteries a month later, just recharge batteries when they go dead or charge extra set when batteries in toy,etc start showing they are low. Lastly, not all rechargeables are the same-check the "mAh" number. The higher the better and if a battery does not show this number then you can safely assume it is a low number. The mAh is how much power battery will hold and thus tells you how long it will last. A 2450 mAh will last much longer than a 1800 mAh.

Customer Review: Doesnt hold charge
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought the charger and batteries at walmart about 5 months ago. I use to have radio shack 15 minute charger but they no longer sell those batteries which is a shame because those batteries lasted a really long time i had them for over 3 years and they were just finally starting to not hold a charge but i digress. I was happy with this new charger. Batteries charged 15 minutes and seemed to hold their charge.

Just this week i started to notice that batteries i has just charged not even a week ago and put into my apple wireless mouse were already needing to be recharged. Now come on, the mouse doesnt need THAT much power that it eats up a battery in one week! And then i started to notice that my daughters handheld video game needed to be charged almost daily when it use to be good for a week or two.

So if you want a battery thats going to hold its charge for a little while but quickly changes to holding its charge for like half a day, than by all means buy these batteries. But i dont know anyone who wants to have to keep recharging batteries even if it does only take 15 minutes.
