Customer Review: Don't waste your money

This part was advertised as being compatible with Vista, which is what I needed it for, but it's not. It's actually the first thing I've ever used that caused Vista to bluescreen. Worse, I called their "support" line, and they told me to download the latest drivers from their website, but the latest drivers on their website are just the same ones that came with the product CD. (How could they not know that? Are they just guessing?). So then they told me that it must be my system, even though they don't know anything about my system, and EVERYTHING else has always worked fine.
Don't get me wrong, it would work briefly after booting up. But when it worked, it would connect, then disconnect, then connect, then disconnect about every 8 seconds. You can't do anything with such brief periods of connectivity. It made the product useless. I stumbled across the fact that it was the extension wire making it do that, though, because when I didn't use the wire, it connected consistently (until an inevitable bluscreen after a few minutes). How do you screw up a wire? I needed the wire because I wanted this on the back of my machine (not hanging off of the front), but this piece is too large to fit with everything else that's plugged in back there.
I mainly bought this because it was cheap, and I thought, "What could be the difference between this and something from a reputable company?" It may be cheap, but get what you pay for.
