Customer Review: I tried two different products and this one wasn't as good

I tried this and the CD Stripper and ultimately had to go with the CD Stripper, even though it is marketed ONLY to opening CDs. Why? Because it is sturdier, stronger and truly easy to use. It is also more attractive and both kids and adults love it. Finally, it has the same advantages of being child-proof AND not easily broken by children. My kids broke the CD/DVD opener on this page. So I'm going with the CD Stripper.Customer Review: Alas, it doesn't work

I bought several of these to share with friends, since the shipping cost for just one or two is prohibitive. I tried it eagerly on a new CD, running it along the edges -- only to find that it barely creased the wrapper. It did nothing at all for the security tape. This is a complete and total waste of money.

This product has a very good design. The narrower cutting side is sized for opening CD's, and the larger cutting side is sized for opening DVD's. It is extremely easy to use, and is comfortable to hold in the hand. I'm planning to purchase one for each vehicle glovebox.Customer Review: DVD and CD Opener

Have only used it a couple of times in a month, and feel like I've already justified the low cost. - Should be fine for my intermittent use.
