I am autistic with severe sensory deficits. These ear plugs are perfect for this problem. Have tried sponge ear plugs off and on, but they muffle all sound. The Etymotic Ear Plugs keep the sounds sharp and audible but just turn the volumn down. It was recommended by a friend who has the same problem. What a super product. The earplugs are a must for any high volume live concert. They uniformly lower the sound volume without compromising much quality or causing a muffling effect. They are not really "dorky" and they save my ears from ringing for 2 days after a concert. When your friends are all saying "my ears are ringing" after the show, you'll be glad you had them.Customer Review: They make concerts sound better.

My wife and I love to go to live music. After 20 years of doing this my ears have gotten pretty sensitive to realy loud music. I used to wear the saftey ear plugs which dull the sound and take away the pain. These make the music clearer, and allow you to hear people talking near you. I play in a Grade 3 Bagpipe band (in the snare section, no less) and I've become worried that my hearing will degenerate if I continue this as a lifelong hobby.
These earplugs do an admirable job of reducing the volume of playing extremely loud instruments indoors. After practice, I can hear! I recommend them.

It's not uncommon to attend a concert or a show in a small venue and come out with my ears ringing. These plugs dampen the volume without loosing the integrity of the sound. They are worth the small investment. Received them within a week of order. I would recommend them to anyone who wants avoid damaging their hearing.
