Customer Review: Very Useful and Well Design Product
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this product to improve the ergonomics of my wife's workstation, which it did with flying colors. She already had a very nice "pedestal" style stand, but after reviewing options, the Ergotron LX looked like a superior solution. This is because of the design of the product--the Ergotron has extreme range of motion (compared to any pedestal stand), allowing one to easily pull the monitor towards oneself, push it back, up down, even tilt it forward or back (or side to side, or rotate between landscape and portrait). It also frees up desk space, since it clamps to the back of the desk (you must have enough overhang at the back of the desk in order to use the clamp).

The true testimony, however, is that after installing my wife's Ergotron, I went and purchased their dual-arm model (I'm anticipating some day getting a 2nd LCD...). So, the stand works great with a 19" ViewSonic or a 21" Dell.

Highly recommended. Remember you may have to adjust the tension (I did not), and another reviewer mentions how to navigate Ergotron's web site to get an official list of supported monitors. Their web site is also worth checking out for installation details and requirements.

Customer Review: This thing is awesome
Summary: 5 Stars

I'd been considering a new monitor stand for quite some time that would allow me to flip between portrait and landscape. I know it seems a bit expensive, at least I thought it was at first, but man this thing is worth every penny. It's holding up my 20.1" widescreen Viewsonic monitor right now with absolutely no problem. I installed it in less than 30 minutes and immediately knew this was the right decision. I bet this thing could hold 24"+ monitors; don't blame me if it can't, but this thing is solid. I use it all the time, since I read long documents like PDFs on a daily basis. I can even pull it to be right in front of me when I want to sit back in my chair, then push it forward when I want to sit up. It's fantastic.
The only cons I see are for those who type a lot/vigorously, and it probably depends on how you have the arm setup, but when I type, there is a slight bounce to the monitor. This may really annoy some people, but for me it's a non issue, since I don't type very much.
I highly recommend this for people who need to do a lot of reading on their computer screens like I do. Typists should stick with a solid base or even a wall mount might be a better option.

Customer Review: Very solid sturdy product
Summary: 5 Stars

The first thing you notice about the box when being delivered is the weight it has. This arm is very solid and I'm glad I spent the extra money for it. If given the choice I will always spend a little more to get something of better construction and just unboxing it I was already satisfied. Installation took maybe 15 minutes, and part of that was pulling the monitor back off of it to install the locking screw to prevent rotation of the monitor. The finish is nice and the directions were clear enough to get the product installed quickly. I'm currently using this with a Dell S2409W 24-Inch LCD monitor right now. The existing base is not height adjustable and was sitting too low on the desk for comfortable viewing. To prop it up higher involved using up a lot of workspace. The arm now only takes up a small footprint where it's clamped to the desk and allows it to be positioned in almost any way. There is a nice tension screw that allows for you to offset the weight of the monitor. Include the allen key to do so. Very happy with the product. I would buy it again and recommend it to others as well.

Customer Review: Beautiful, solid equipment
Summary: 5 Stars

I did a lot of research before settling on the Ergotron LX. I bought two, one for a 23" Apple Cinema Display and one for a ViewSonic VP201b (20"). The arms handle the weight of each monitor wonderfully and they have a very attractive modern look.

The setup for each only took ~ 10 minutes. I thought it would take an hour when I first opened the box and saw the three thick manuals they included. The manuals were in multiple languages which explains the number of manuals. The installation guide was very easy to follow, sort of like the old "Choose Your Own Adventure" books. Each step presents you with a style A or B. I chose to just use the mounting bracket style instead of drilling through my desk, and setup was very easy.

I wish I had found these sooner. I love my desk again and the new space underneath the monitors makes room for all my gear. I no longer have neck pain since I can adjust these to the proper height.

I keep the tension key nearby but have not had to use it since installation. Good work, Ergotron.

Customer Review: Ergotron mount is everything it claims to be.
Summary: 4 Stars

The Ergotron LX Mount Arm is stylish and relatively easy to put together.
The hardware is complete with two mounting options. I opted for the center bolt mount, which requires drilling a 1/4" hole for a carriage bolt. My only complaint is the carriage bolt is not fixed, so one has to hold it in place while bolting the mount onto whatever you are mounting it to. If I could have used the clamp mount I would have, it looks very easy to install.
The hardware kit comes with all you need, including an open-end and allen wrenches to tighten things.
The pivot points are adjustable for varying monitor weights. I found this feature very helpful because the monitors we used were on heavy side. After a few turns the arms operated smoothly and held the monitors in place, with no sagging.
Over all I would highly recommend the Ergotron LX.
It is simple to mount and adjust. The finish is clean and the design thoughtful. I'd give em an A
T.E.
