Customer Review: Different cable than listed, broke within days

Unfortunately I lost almost ten dollars on this horrid cable as I payed expedited shipping. Admittedly, it did come within four days or so, but the cable took far less time to break itself. No stress was put on the cable and it didn't have to survive any harsh climates or environments. Honestly, it just sat in my computer - but hey, I guess the constant minor charge from the USB port was too much for the pitiful thing. In less time than it took to get here, it broke. Certainly not ordering from this company again, nor would I suggest any of you do so. Any company that is riddled with this much deceit doesn't deserve to sell on amazon and doesn't deserve your money. Especially in bad economic times such as these.Customer Review: No Problems at all.

My husband and I both have IPhones. So far, we've had to replace the charge cords twice now. The first time I ran mine over with my office chair and broke the connections. The second time my puppy ate through my husbands connector while it was still connected to both the phone and the computer. Then she took off down the hallway with the cord still in her mouth!
We bought the replacements at Amazon for under $2 with free shipping. This is an amazing deal. It's 10 times as much if you buy the original cord at Apple. Although there are bad reviews of the product on Amazon, I have no idea why. My cord looks exactly like the ones that broke and both replacement cords work great.

As many others have noted, this is NOT an Apple product but a cheap-looking and, of course, cheap USB dock cable. Yeah, the too-good-to-believe price should be a clue, but heck, I thought maybe a crate of genuine Apple cables had fallen off a truck or something. Truly a case of caveat emptor!
Update: So what if it isn't Genuine Apple (is that trademarked yet?) you ask? Well, I don't know why a simple wire should make the difference but when I use this and plug my iPhone into my PC at work, the phone is detected by the software, and a few moments later, it gets dropped. It never fully charges. I tried it with an Apple cable and this never happens. So that's why it matters.

This is most definitely not an Apple product. Don't let the Amazon photo fool you; it's a misleading product image!
However, yeah, I was able to connect my iPhone to my MacBook Pro. Data syncing worked. Recharging worked. So if you're looking to spend the last possible money, then this product should work well. The phone connector is a little goofy in how it attaches/detaches because it does not have the squeeze tabs/button for release (whereas the original Apple product does). Take a little care when disconnecting and it shouldn't be a big issue.
It ain't Apple; the Amazon photo is wrong. This cheap knock off does, in fact, work and will save you a few bucks.
