Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Dock Connector to USB 2.0 Cable for iPod and iPhone (White)

Customer Review: Not a real Apple product as described and pictured
Summary: 1 Stars

I ordered this because in the title it read "by Apple". The picture is of a real Apple cable, but that is not what I got. Instead I got a generic cheaply made cable. I am usually a big advocate of buying low cost cables. I have bought several audio and video cables that have worked great that cost next to nothing. This was not the same. The end of the cable that goes into my Ipod does not attach smoothly. I have to angle the cord just right and force it in. I am almost afaid to use it because it might damage my Ipod. This is the case where I should have bought a higher quality cable. But how should I have known? Everything in the item's page lead me to believe that I was getting the real deal. Watch out for this shop. It seems to be a little shady if you ask me.

Customer Review: Destroyed not one, but two IPods!
Summary: 1 Stars

Like described below, this cord is incredible cheap. Upon using it to connect my iPod to my computer I had nothing but problems! It wouldn't load songs, constantly caused errors and my system to slow WAY down!

Not thinking it was the cord I diagnosed every other issue. In my frustration I asked a co-worker (I work at an information processing company, my co-worker was my system functional expert). She used her cord to connect my iPod and it worked fine. Thinking I was crazy she used my cord on her device and it entirely messed it up as well!

We both had to restore our iPods losing all our music! The item listed is definately not what you get, it looks nothing like the pictures and is definately a cheap useless version of the 'real thing'.

Customer Review: Rather buy 20 of these than 1 Apple cable
Summary: 4 Stars

Those 3 reviews on the main page from 2007 dont reflect the product. I've bought two and they have both been great. The only real problem is the plastic casing around the connector. It is 2 pieces of plastic held together, but they aren't held together well. My first one started to fall apart after about 3 months, but I put some tape on it and managed to get another 3 months out of it...longer than my Apple cable lasted, which frayed at the rubber after only a few months and fell apart. 2nd one I put tape on as well, and managed to get a good 6 months out of it before I lost it. So what is that, 2 dollars a year?

If you are an Apple worshiper and want to blow $20 on a USB cable that probably cost them a few cents to make, be my guest

Customer Review: Dont spend $20 from apple for a replacement
Summary: 5 Stars

For those of you who love and know apple.inc we all know that their products are fantastic and well worth the money but the replacement tid bit parts are so expensive such is the case with a suitable replacement for your ipod or iphone 30pin connector. my dog had chewed the cable that i had gotten from apple when i purchased my ipod touch and i relly didnt want to spend an extra $20 for a cable. so when i found that this was for fairly cheap i was excited. the product arrived on time and in great condition and fit on my ipod nicely with no problems and for those who would ask they would just assume it was the original cable so i highly reccommend this product if your looking for a cheap replacement for a worn or damaged cable

Customer Review: Inexpensive and looks very similar to original Apple cable
Summary: 5 Stars

this cable works fine to charge and to sync my 3g iphone (3.1.3. firmware). Cable looks OEM. I was worried since some user posted pictures which show a very boxy and ugly looking cable. however, I bought it anyway since it was so cheap. to my surprise they look just like what the seller posted as the picture. (I purchased 5/1/10)

These look like the older Apple style cable with the longer plastic connector on the iphone side. The newer Apple cables have a plastic connected about 1/2 a long. Not an issue for me at all and at $1.77 with free shipping who could ask for anything more?

even if the cable doesn't hold up. I could buy more than 10 and still be better off than buying a cable from the Apple store.
