I don't have photos right now. But as of June 2010, the ones I bought look exactly like the Apple brand cables. Right down to the color of plastic inside the USB and dock connectors. The only difference, is this cable is 1/8th of an inch shorter. Otherwise it looks exactly the same. And it fits firmly (but not too firmly) into the ipod/iphone and USB ports. I don't see how it would disconnect with this variation of the product and I haven't had any issues so far. At least for this version of the product, it's WAY worth the price difference between the Apple branded unit. Before I purchased one of my very own, I have read many other reviews about this Ipod sync cord. Some said it was too short. Some said it was an immitation cord and some said that it erased songs from their ipod's during the sync process. I ordered one and it works SUPERBLY just like the original. It looks just like the original and it isn't short at all. The cord is the original length as the one that came with yor ipod. I'd recommend this. It's cheaper than the original and it does the same exact thing. I would also recommend the wall USB charger power adapter if you need a wall charger. It works great with this sync cord and it is affordable as well.Customer Review: i just lost my usb 2.0 wire and now i need to buy this one!

when i had the ipod dock connector to usb cable, it was the best i ever used. i loved it. i used to take it to school and charge it in my technology class because it has a computer lab. i charged it to a dell pc and it charges well! but it charges faster at home. its the best for sync & charge. for $20, i would be happy to buy this off amazon.com because it is the only known website/seller that sells it. i wish i could get one for less price because this is replaceable and good for people who lost theirs or have problems with theirs. currently, my ipod mini is OFF so i have to wait a bit to make some money and buy a new one. cant wait for this!Customer Review: Free shipping makes these cables a real bargain.

Don't be confused. This is not an Apple cable. I bought two for $3.00 and no shipping. They arrived very quickly. So far they work fine. For the money, they work great! Here are extra cables for the car or for the dock.
On the down side, if you put them alongside the Apple cable, you can observe differences in apparent quality. So far, though, there is no difference in function.

Edited 12/1/2010: One of the cables failed. I was using it to charge an iPod Touch in a dock. It created so much audio hum in an external speaker that it had to be replaced. No abuse or sign of damage. It simply failed.

Like most people here I foolishly saw the authentic apple usb connector photo and clicked buy-now without checking the comments (I usually read the reviews completely for more expensive products).
This cable is generic as it gets and I bought 3 of them. I live in NYC and these are the identical to the "made in China" cables you can get on the street for $5 (roughly what I paid per cable after shipping).
I've had issues with this cable for transferring data but generally for power they seem ok - fortunately this is mostly what I need the extra cables for and I'll stick to the original cable for data.
