Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of DLO HipCase Leather Folio Case for iPod touch 1G, 2G, 3G (Black)Customer Review: It's actually worth the money! Summary: 5 Stars
I've rarely been inclined to leave a review for a purchased product, but with this item, I'm inspired. I was a bit skeptical at spending $20 for what I figured would be a cheap 'faux' leather case for an ipod Touch. I think most iPod accessories are overpriced, but when I got this case, I was delighted at the quality. This is NOT fake leather, it is 100% genuine cowhide leather, and you can even smell it :) The stitching quality is top-notch, and I was surprised that it even had a very secure belt clip on it.
The item description says that it's made for the 8gb and 16gb iPod Touch, but I took a shot anyway, and ordered this for my 32gb Touch. For those 32gb owners out there who might be wondering, this is a perfect fit for it as well. That might be common sense, but I wasn't certain until I got it.
If you feel 'funny' carrying around a $500 mp3 player in it's bare state, this case will alleviate most if not all of your fears. It feels like you've given the iPod a safehouse to protect it. It's solid built, and quality crafted. I'm VERY pleased with this purchase.
Customer Review: great case, no bad smell on mine. Summary: 5 Stars
great case, i didnt have any bad smell but maybe it only happens to a few. i cant realy find any complaint for this case other than that i t got a little loost after a while and i cant realy flip the cover open without fearing the ipod might go flying out. but thats a small thing. one other thing people have complained about is the fact that there is no screen protector, after seeing a case that a friend has im glad it doesnt have a built in screen protector. because the plastic is attached to the case theres alot of bubbles under it and its hard to see through. i DO have one of those stick on screen protectors that you attach to it separately, and that works well. as long as you get it on right theres no problem with bubbles. finally there was one person who mention that his iphone didnt fit. THIS CASE IS NOT MADE FOR IPHONE. this case is too small to fit the iphone, there is no holes cut in it for iphone speaker/microphone it was NOT made to fit it at all.
bottomline is that this case is great for ipod touch, no problems with it worth the money to help protect your ipod.
Customer Review: Awesome Case for the iPod touch. Summary: 5 Stars
FYI : the 1G in the title indicates 1st Generation iPod Touch - not a 1gig. A second generation iPod Touch was released in Sept 2008.
I use this case on my iPod Touch and love it. It fits snuggly but not roughly. The front "flap" protects the screen wonderfully and allows easy access to all your controls. The openings at the bottom line up perfectly with all access points. You can charge your Touch without having to remove it from the case ( directly with the connector cable, I do not use a cradle ). The headphone jack is easily accessed as well.
The padding, though not overdone or bulky, has protected my prized Touch during a fall that I was sure had doomed it to uselessness. Not so - it was unscathed, thanks to this great case.
I can highly recommend this item, it's a perfect accessory.
My only exception to this being the most perfect case would be - to this and ALL iPod Touch cases, is that there is no where to store your headphones. I leave mine plugged in and wrap the cord around the case, securing the flap shut. Works for me.
Customer Review: Another Great Case by DLO Summary: 5 Stars
After searching high and low for a folio style case for my new iPod Touch, I was thrilled to see that DLO was offering a nice, padded leather case for the Touch. I have purchased DLO cases for my iPod Nano (1st gen), and for my daughter's Sadisk Sansa e260 MP3 player. DLO really makes nice cases for MP3 players. This new DLO HipCase Folio for iPod Touch is very soft and padded. The magnet closures for the flip cover are a very nice touch. The belt clip is built on the case and is very slim; unlike those bulky, cheap plastic clips like so many other manufacturers use. The plasic clips break easily and make the cases stick out from your belt far too much. The iPod Touch fits in this case perfectly, and all of the ports and buttons line up just as they should. You don't have to take the MP3 player out of the case to charge it or for anything else. It provides the right amount of protection without adding an ulgy, bulky look to the sleek, thin design of the player. I highly recommend this case to everyone with an iPod Touch! The price is great and the quality is superb! =o)
Customer Review: Love it -- One suggestion. Summary: 5 Stars
The DLO iTouch/iPhone 3G case is exactly what I hoped it would be. Very nice leather. Initial chemical smell disappeared in a few days. Now smells like nice leather. The belt clip is sturdily attached to the case, yet is easy (though appropriately tight) to slip onto my belt/waistband. I have dropped it once - on a tile floor - with my iTouch inside. No damage to the iTouch or case. Good protection. Any leather case makes touching the edge of the screen a bit harder. I'll just say, you get used to it and it is no problem. One suggestion -- my wife bought a different case for her iTouch. Her case has an opening to allow light to reach the the iTouch's light sensor (top, center of the iTouch). This allows her to make use of the automatic brightness feature of the iTouch. I must adjust mine manually when ambient light levels change (like reading in the dark in bed). I have thought of cutting a hole where the light sensor is, but didn't want to mar the good looks of the case. Were DLO to include an opening for the light sensor, I'd say the case would be perfect.
