Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of DLO HipCase Leather Folio Case for 80/120/160 GB iPod classic 6G (Black)Customer Review: Well-made and useful Summary: 5 Stars
I like this iPod case very much, using it every time I take my iPod out of my apartment. It does an excellent job of protecting my iPod Classic, so that I don't worry about banging it up in my purse. It is very well made, with a perfect fit, just the right amount of padding, and strong stitching; yet it allows easy accessibility to the iPod's controls. I should mention one attribute that I didn't realize this case lacked when I bought it: It doesn't have any place to stow the ear buds; implying that it is intended for people who want to go out with the ear buds in their ears, and don't want to remove them and put them away. I wanted a case that would hold the ear buds, as well as the iPod; but, all the same, I don't regret purchasing this item. Previously, I would carry my iPod in a sock to protect it in my purse. Now, I still use the sock with the case, just to keep the ear buds stowed. This works well for me. So know that, if you want an iPod case to both protect your iPod and store your ear buds when you're not listening, keep an old sock available!
Customer Review: A snug case for the iPod 160! Summary: 4 Stars
This case is a very snug fit for the iPod 160, with enough room on the sides at the top to grasp it and pull it out with relative ease. I did have to work with it a little to get the flap to close completely, but once I got it closed, it wasn't an issue. The hole on top for headphone access is not placed accurately and you will have to work with that as well to get the jack plugged in through the top. There is also no access to the hold button through the top flap. The flap is magnetic, and includes a slot that could be used for ID, a credit card or business card. There is access on the bottom for syncing with the cable, but I doubt if you could leave the case on when placing your iPod in a dock. I do like the protection this case provides for on the go listening. I haven't tried a drop test and don't intend to do so, but I feel comfortable putting my iPod in my purse or backpack to carry along with me with no worries. Obviously this is not ideal for video watching, but for transport and music listening this case is ideal & I'm very happy with it.
Customer Review: Really nice case Summary: 5 Stars
The last case I had was a hard plastic one which kept my iPod free of scratches, but did very little else - not even preventing dirt from getting underneath, I had to open it up periodically to clean it. Not to mention it offered no cushioning whatsoever whenever I dropped it. So I find this one a *huge* improvement - the leather's soft, it isn't a pillow but it does offer some subtle cushioning. It's made of strong sturdy stuff, elastic on both sides so it can accommodate the 160 gig, but it isn't at all loose around my 120 gig. It is, in fact, very very snug - impossible to jostle within the case. The flip cover works well too, with a nice magnet keeping it closed that isn't too weak or strong - the belt clip magnet is very strong, but that's good too. There's a hole at the bottom to plug in the cable to charge it, and the one at the top for earphones is big enough so it doesn't twist it when you open the cover. Also, it's impossible to press the touchwheel by pressing on the outside cover. Another plus!
Customer Review: GREAT product for the money !!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have owned this case now for about one year and between this case and the silicon skin I have on my 5th gen. 120Gb Ipod, it has saved me a new Ipod many times over!
I put the proctive skins on my screen and wheel, put that in a silicone skin and then put all of that in this nice leather case with pocket clip. It has kept my Ipod from being scratched and the silicon cover has kept it from being damaged from it being constantly droped. I work construction so all of these things are constantly happening (rubbing, droping and the like). I am buying a new leather case so when I go out it is not all beat up and looks nice.
I have taken the Ipod out of all the cases ocassionally to clean off the minute dust that seems to get in no matter what I do, and it still looks like NEW.
It is a little pricey but well worth the price when you consider the alternative, the price of a new Ipod!
Customer Review: Good case for iPod Classic Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for an 80GB iPod Classic. The case fits nice with no excessive snugness. It has a magnetic closure that secures firmly and doesn't flap open easily. The bottom cutout is sufficient size to allow easy access to sync and AC charging cables. I do have to remove the case to use the iPod with my speaker dock, but this is pretty much the issue with every case I've ever purchased. iPod slides in and out easily with no prior break-in required. There is an internal pocket that you can slide a credit card or a couple currency bills into. It also has a non removable belt clip that is slim and not bulky but fits over most belts. The leather is soft to the touch, but sturdy enough to provide assurance that the iPod is adequately protected. Overall, I'm pleased with the case. It's stylish, while still being sturdy enough to withstand trips to the gym or other physical activity.
