We have alot of baby einstein videos that our son who is know 2 1/2 has scratched up severly over the past few years. His now favorite dvd Cars..which he got from Santa was so badly scratched that the disc became unreadable during the second half of the movie. I first bought the Memorex repair kit because I thought the adapter would suit us better. I tried the repair 3 times and the disc was still unreadable. I returned that to the store, and purchased the skip doctor. After just one time running it through, the Cars movie is back in business in our home. A few of the Baby einstein DVD's had to be repaired 2 times, but work now with the exception of one which skips at the very end. This machine does mark a pattern into the disc after repair, but it works like magic. I am very happy to have bought this item.Customer Review: Way better than I expected

I never put reviews on amazon unless I really like the product. And this is the only product that I thought putting a review on. Don't get me wrong here. The product is not the best out there. But it's worth the money that I paid. I wasn't expecting a lot from this product because of the reviews. But I thought I would give it a try since its only $25. I had a movie and and a game disk to repair. I put it the first round and it wasn't noticeable. So I put it in a couple of times and bam! it works. The game disk itself is worth $50 so I say it's definitely worth it. I didn't give a 5 star because I have to put in a couple of times to get rid of ALL the scratches. Other than this, the only con is that I have to put 6 AA batteries. It should've come with the adapter rather than selling it as an add on.Customer Review: useless

I read the reviews, it sounded good. I had a DVD and a game that needed fixing, and the cost of the unit was less than replacing both. I ran the game through twice and the DVD 3 times, even buffed them until I could shave in their reflection and nada. Both still froze in the same spot, not even a little improvement. I read all the comments and tips on how to do it, soaked the discs in solution and ran them through, and still nothing. If it was one disc, I'd say it was probably the disc, but it didn't work at all on either one, and they weren't even that badly scratched.
Some say this thing works great, and I don't doubt that it does for some people. I'd just say you should consider it a pleasant surprise if it works for you, but you shouldn't expect it to.

The item was exactly as described in new condition including the power adapter the actual machine works perfectly, however be careful to follow the instructions when cleaning. I had bought the automatic cleaner for my girlfriend because a few of her dvds skipped and she insisted on doing the first run but she over sprayed the disc and then dried it using the blue cloth instead of the buffing square as recommended. Because of that the dvd refused to read in any player and was saying it's coded for another region and she was going to make me buy another dvd and return the cleaner until i read the instructions did it correctly and it worked perfectly. So it's a great product but you should follow the directions before returning or worrying your dvd is destroyed.Customer Review: YES! This thing really DOES work!!

Just like the review below, I have repaired (resurfaced) over 30 DVDs so far and only one has not worked properly because of a very deep scratch. This thing does what it says and works GREAT! It should repair about 50 DVDs before you need the replacement kit. It's a very good investment, especially if you have experienced the frustration of rented DVDs that won't play! WARNING: Do NOT use this device with HD-DVDs or Blu-Ray discs!! You will destroy the DVD! But if you have this machine, you can rent movies without having to worry about whether they will play or not. Also, you should buy the power adapter. There is an order form that comes with the unit, but it will run on 6 AA batteries for at least 30 DVDs. Get this product! You won't be sorry.
