Why did I give this 5 stars? Because it does what it's suppose to do... it recharges batteries.
Yes it's thicker than the Canon stock charger but the prongs do fold so they don't get damaged. It's thicker because it's designed to work with multi-voltage so it has two transformers in it, and it's designed to handle 5 adapters. It still fits fine in a camera back pouch.
The package comes with a perforated backing so it is easy to open, reach in, and pull out the guts. Yes you have to put a "little" effort but you can thank shopper lifters for that - don't blame the company for protecting their product from thieves.
This charger does work with the NB-5L battery.. but the NB-5L adapter comes "already attached to the charger" so you won't find it loose in the package with the other 4 adapters.
For a charge speed estimate, the charger charged a near dead battery to full charged in about 2 hours.
