Customer Review: Good but large

As one reviewer pointed out this device does exactly what it says it will do. You stick in your CF card, attach it to a USB port, and transfer your files from the CF card to a computer. File transfer seemed moderately fast, but this is as much a function of the card used as the card reader. The device seems sturdy and well built and it even comes with a short USB extension cable. Since most laptops don't have a built-in CF card reader devices like this are very useful. For these reasons I give it 5 stars.
However, I'm not totally convinced this is the best card reader to get. It is comparatively large, 2.25" x 3.5". If compact design is important to you search elsewhere. I have another CF card reader purchased online at the Flash Memory Store in which the card fits into the side of the reader. Without the card this reader is only 0.875" X 3.25", significantly more compact. It seems sturdy and the speed is similar to the Delkin reader. Further, it is less money.
