Customer Review: Wind Up Crank LED Flash Light
Summary: 4 Stars
FEATURES: This is a wind up, regenerative powered flash light. It has 3-LED's onboard and will last 120 minutes on a full charge. I like the rubber grips on the sides, as they have a overall comfortable feel while holding the light. Both while operating, and while charging. It has a power switch button on the top of it, all you have to do is press it, and the lights come on, press it again, and the lights go off.
ILLUMINATION: As opposed to the shake lights where you have to shake them for 2 minutes to get 8 to 10 minutes of use out of them. These wind up lights can be cranked for only a minute or two, to get an hour or two of light from them! In my opinion, these crank lights are so much brighter, not only because they use batteries to store the energy instead of capacitors, but also because there are 3-LED's vs one.
CRANKING: I like these wind up lights better then shake lights, for the main reason that they charge faster, and are easier to crank then shake. For example, what if you are an elderly person with arthritis? People with arthritis have trouble working with their hands. And it does not take a genius to understand that, cranking a lever around is a lot easier, then shaking a light vigorously, where you have to use your whole arm and hand!
DURABILITY: I like to think these lights are pretty durable because they are made out of a tough plastic. Though if you drop them on the ground, expect cosmetic damage. The lens over the LED's is made of plastic, as such, I don't recommend sharp objects anywhere near it or you will risk scratching it.
CONCLUSION: I really like these lights a whole lot more over the shake lights, for many reasons. They are brighter, last longer, easier to charge, and easier to use. I really recommend them over the shake lights, plus they are more affordable! All in all, I give them a 4 out of 5 for durability, 5 out of 5 for ease of use, 4 out of 5 for illumination, 4 out of 5 for battery life. So overall, this gets a 4 out of 5 :)
