Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Vista Explorer 60-Inch Lightweight Tripod with Tripod Bag

Customer Review: Worth its price
Summary: 4 Stars

It's very lightwieght. I have used it with my t2i and never have been problems. The only cons i find are: 1. The legs aint end in spike, instead of it they end in a surface and is not too sticky so they splip if you need put the tripod in extreme angles, my solution: stick anti-slip stickers like that ones that are sold for stick in chair legs. 2. the thinghy to change landscape mode to portrait mode (horizontal to vertical) has kinda clumsy steps but nothing too bad.

If you don't need heavy duty it makes its work very good.

Customer Review: bad tripod
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this tripod a few weeks ago and consider it practically unusable. It is only OK if your subject is a completely still object, but if you need any degree of flexibility, i.e. movement/swivel action (as a surf photographer, I do), then it is poorly designed and made. The swivel action does not swivel, it jerks. I am very disappointed in this product and it is not necessarily price related. I previously owned a different brand of tripod which cost around the same, but of much higher construction quality.

Customer Review: Excellent Introductory Tripod
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this item for $24.67 when I bought my first digital SLR. It is an excellent introductory tripod. Lightweight, but good design and solid construction. The only flaw with this design is that you have to loosen/tighten a wingnut to tilt the camera up or down (to look at the sky or ground, for example). The weight of the camera makes it difficult to get it to stay in the position you want. That is why the ball-and-socket design is superior, but it is also significantly more expensive.

Customer Review: Great tripod!
Summary: 5 Stars

The tripod might not be a professional one, but it provides an abundant amount of features for the amateur photographer. The level markers are wonderful for taking that perfect, level shot and the multiple adjustable height ability is just superb! I am very happy with the sturdiness and ease of use of this tripod. The Vista Explorer 60" tripod will provide me with all I need to add more and more photos of family, friends, and life events to my growing collection. The carry bag was a nice touch.

Customer Review: Excellent, lightweight tripod
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this for my wife on X'mas and I got to say this is a good value, lightweight tripod. It's very functinal and easy to set up. For the sake of this review, the only concern I have is that since the tripod haven't been used a long time, the ball that makes the surface that the camera sits on a little bit tight and not as free moving. I don't think that is much of a big deal. Other than that, its a excellent tripod for someone who's starting out with a DSLR camera.
