Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Vista Explorer 60-Inch Lightweight Tripod with Tripod BagCustomer Review: Great value! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this tripod to use with my Canon Rebel XSi. This is the first tripod I've ever owned and I'm must say that I have been incredibly pleased with the product thus far (I've owned it for two months now). I've only used the tripod indoors at this point in time, but have had nothing but positive things to say about it. The tripod seems very sturdy and I really appreciate all the different heights and angles I can use this tripod at. It's a great investment and an essential tool, in my opinion, in getting a crisp, clear shot. I consider this product invaluable and am very happy with my purchase! I expect this tripod to last quite a while. The price is fantastic for such a great, lightweight product.
Customer Review: Amateur photo/mixed use Summary: 4 Stars
First let me see I am an amateur photographer and this is my first tri-pod. For taking pictures it works fine for me. Also I use it when calibrating my Home Theater setup. My Onkyo receiver has a mic which you position around your listening area and it takes readings to adjust to the output from the speakers. To position the mic around my room I attach it to the tripod. The mic mounts to the tripod the same way a camera does. The tripod does a good job of keeping the mic balanced and level around my room as I position it on and around chairs, the couch and coffee table....
For my uses I find that it works great and it's very easy to position on and around any place you need it.
Customer Review: I love it, I love it, I love it Summary: 5 Stars
I was so excited when I got my tripod. I haven't had one since I was in school and that one was terrible. It is very lightweight, easy to use. It doesn't come with instructions (not that you really need them), but if you haven't had one (or the one you use to use was made in 190-dirt) you will need to tinker with it for a whole 30 seconds to figure it out. I haven't tested it outside yet, but there are two level readers on this, one on the outside to show that you are level on the legs, and one by the camera (it's awkward to see once my camera is on it though), but it will help you get a good angle, or a straight shot. If you need a tripod but don't have an arm and a leg to spend on one, get this one.
Customer Review: Excellent product for the price you pay ! Summary: 5 Stars
Looking at what I paid, I was just expecting a mediocre product. But I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this product. Although I would not say this is a very sturdy and professional tripod, it is just about perfect for an amateur like me. Our first experiment with this tripod gave some breath-taking results. We clicked a few photos of ourselves during the sun-set and those turned out to be one of our best pics ! The tripod is really light weight but sturdy too. Also it has a lot of adjustments, for just about any position you need. But you might not achieve a the perfect positing using these adjustments, but you could live with it. After all, I paid for only what I needed.
Customer Review: Low price implies poor head Summary: 4 Stars
A good lightweight tripod for its price, well designed for convient universal use. If you don't know exactly what tripod you need, buy this one.
Its major drawback is the cheap plastic head: panning and tilting are not smooth (the steps are less than 1 degree); after you tighten the tilting axis and take your hand off the tilting angle drifts a bit (1 degree at moderate load). However you will not find a good head in this price range.
Additional tips:
- because of light weight the tripod is continuously vibrating even at moderate wind (10 km/h);
- 20x (at wide-field) is the maximum usable magnification for scopes mounted onto this tripod.
