Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Vista Explorer 60-Inch Lightweight Tripod with Tripod Bag

Customer Review: Great Tripod for Beginers to Intermediate level photographers
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this product after reading several reviews about it on Amazon and was kind of concerned about it's performance until I received it.

I am now using it for last 1.5 months and I truely love it.
Pros:
- Fit into pocket, there are several other ones available which are too costly
- Sturdy, I can confidently put my Canon XSi, Sony SR65 with kids running around in house
- Multi features, can rotate 360, variable heights, easy to use
- Light weight, easy to carry, comes with a bag(which is a +)
- It has fluid leveler as well, which will guide you whether camera is balanced or not.
- Easy to take panoramic shots

Cons:
- In first look body looks like a thin Aluminum, but I hope it last for long time.

Let me know if you have any questions about this prodouct.

Customer Review: Supports large binoculars
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a pair of Celestron Skymaster 15 X 70 binoculars that I use for astronomical viewing. The binos are pretty heavy, at over 3 pounds and almost impossible to hold steady without some kind of support. The Vista Explorer is a very practical, inexpensive solution. The adjustable height range of the tripod offers comfortable viewing from either a sitting or standing position. The twist locks on the geared center post and the leg supports provide added stability. And, the carrying bag, compactness and light weight make it very easy to haul out to your favorite dark sky viewing spot. I have never used the Vista Explorer for photography but I would highly recommend it as a quick and easy, stable platform for mounting large aperture binoculars (Or, monoculars or even small scopes) for astronomical or daytime terrestrial viewing.

Customer Review: An everyday camera use
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this tripod during the holidays so our family can finally take photos will us all instead of one person missing. It does the job right! I feel that the tripod is very sturdy and I don't have a fear of it tipping over or breaking anytime soon. The digital camera I use is a sony w220 to go with the tripod. I also use the tripod to record short films with the HD camcorder I have. So far everything is perfect during it's 2 month use.

Tripod Description:
- 3 points of extensions
- it has a measure on it to see if the tripod is centered. one of those liquid meters
- quick release top
- has a crank to raise the camera along with a few other knobs to twist and turn the tripod
- 60 inches
- easy to use
- good for the price you pay
- includes a travel bag

Customer Review: Not half bad
Summary: 4 Stars

I wasn't expecting too much from a tripod at this price point, but I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. The build quality is decent, and it easily holds my Canon Digital Rebel XTi and moderate sized lens. Generally speaking, my thoughts are:

Pros:
+ Value
+ Quick release mount works great
+ Nicely adjustable legs

Cons:
- Doesn't collapse quite as small as I'd like to make it really portable
- Legs can be a little sticky
- Leveling bubbles are next to useless

All in all I wouldn't have any problem recommending this tripod. If you're a pro photographer getting paid for your work, maybe upgrade a bit (or use this as a throwaway). If you're a prosumer like me, then I'd seriously consider this model.

Customer Review: good for what it is worth
Summary: 4 Stars

This tripod is fairly light weight so it is good for carrying around. It comes with a bag which makes carrying even easier.

However, it is not steady as a rock, so you'd best hang something heavy to its hook. The plastic parts are cheaply made so I don't expect them to last very long. The tilt panel is a bit rough and it takes some effort to position the camera into a portrait position. The rubber feet have different tension in them, and the looser ones may not work well when the ground is not level.

It is best to use this tripod in a windless condition, using bulb or self-timed shutter.

But then again, this is only a $30 tripod, and the product is quite good for its worth. That's why there are other tripods cost more than my camera.
