Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of DVI Gear HDMI Cable 2M (6 Feet)Customer Review: GREAT PRODUCT GREAT SERVICE Summary: 5 Stars
Recently i bought a Phillips 32" lcd and a PS3 becouse i really love videogames and i knew the best way to go is using a HDTV. Now here is were an HDMI cable comes to be really needed.
I search amazon for a good hdmi solution and got really impressed for the price on this solution and read the comments, all said this co shipped a great product so i gave it a try
I received it almost a week later and as somebody mentioned before dont expect fancy plastic cases and stuff, the cable came in a plain clear plastic bag, with nothing more than that. Not quite sure about the gold plated connectors..seems no so yellowish as i tough but im not an expert on this matter
Inmedatly pluged it to the PS3 back and directly to the tv and voila the PS3 image went cristal clear the menu letter became really defined and color contrast improved a lot.
Then i inserted Genji on the PS3 and the image was amazing, vibrant colors, ultrasharp details.. just amazing, its like going from half blind to using eyeglasses... so i would recommend anyone who needs an HDMI cable to choose this
Cant say how it works on any other HD source since in my country theres no such thing as HDTV broadcasting but i will be happy with my blue ray movies and ps3 games.-
Customer Review: Too good to pass up Summary: 5 Stars
Come on, 10 cents for an HDMI cable?? You gotta be kidding, well no, it's not a joke. I bought this product being a little sceptic that it might not work on my products, but it works! I've hooked it up with my PS3 and Roku player and they all work flawlessly. The cable looks pretty standard with nothing fancy or anything, but it does what a ANY video/audio cable should do. All those other "top quality" brands asking for 50 bucks a cable is just oerkill. It's a digital cable, nothing needs to be gold plated, just adds price for the same quality. That's like saying I'm getting a pure gold ethernet cable when a regular one works just fine. Now if it were analog, like RCA cables then yeah, gold plated cables carry a better current and will give you better quality. This is the digital era now, video and audio are just compressed and sent through the cable just like you'd listen to a song over the radio. Would a gold plated ethernet cable really help on the audio quality over the internet? No, and exactly the same thing with HDMI. Don't bother spending extra money to get the same quality from another manufacturer that is trying to be honest unlike those other companies that propose their digital cables are better than others. Go ahead, buy this product, save the money to buy yourself a treat.
Customer Review: Great price; doesn't work Summary: 1 Stars
I was happy to buy these cheap cables that Amazon and Cnet said worked well. I bought 2 of these cables, one for the DirecTV HD receiver and one for my PS3. Neither of them worked well. I connected the first cable to my PS3. The PS3 wouldn't play a blu ray disc - it flickered a graphic across the screen about once every 30 seconds but was otherwise black. It did play a regular DVD, but the picture quality was horrible - lots of horizontal lines and fuzzy dots on the screen. I then took that same cable and instead connected it from the HD receiver to the tv. This time, the picture showed up but audio paused every 5 seconds, horizontal lines showed up, and the score ticker for the football game I was watching wasn't very clear.
Some of you may say that maybe my tv and/or PS3 are bad. I'm pretty sure both are fine. The tv is a brand new Sony W5100 and the PS3 is also brand new. I took both of them out of the box the same day I tried the cables. And the TV and PS3 were fine when I used them with the HDMI cable that came with the DirecTV receiver. I didn't expect the free cable to be so much better than the ones I paid for. But maybe I just got a bad batch. Still, it only cost me about $6 for both cables, so that softens the blow of having to throw them out.
Customer Review: Works for me Summary: 5 Stars
OK, so I wanted to do a little test and see if these cables would really work as good as Monster or Rocket Fish or any of that other expensive crap. I currently had a monster cable (that I got for free). Then I went surfing Amazon and was reminded how I always wanted to see if those cheap cables I saw online worked just as well.
Well I found this puppy for $[...] At that price I was willing to take the risk for my test - if it did not work, who cares, it was only a buck seventy-five.
I made the order and got my cable about a week later. I hooked it up to my PS3, and popped in a Blu-Ray movie Rambo. It looked just as good as when I had the monster cable hooked up to the PS3.
Final thoughts - do not waste your money at Best buy, Circuit city or any other chain store where they rip you off for HDMI cables. I guess it works the same way as medicine/pills prices, those things cost pennies to make yet get marked up thousands of percent - which is why the Pharmaceutical companies make so much profit.
One thing I will mention is that my TV goes up to 1080i. So if you have a 1080p TV, then I am not sure if it will work for that. Like I said, both work the same (up to 1080i), but this one is a hell of a lot cheaper.
Customer Review: THE HDMI CABLE THAT YOU NEED Summary: 5 Stars
I have to admit. I'm truly impressed at this purchase. Being someone who has been recently exposed to the technologies of TV's (Lcd's, LcOs, & Plasma) I have been wasting ALOT OF MONEY.
I went out to best buy about a year ago when I purchased my Sony 52XBR-5, and bought along side it, a Monster 1000 Series HDMI cable.
That was a MISTAKE. The sales rep at BB, told me this cable was "future proof" and since my tv was "top of the line" this cable was to compliment the picture it outputs to the maximum.
Truth be told most of the HDMI cable's do the SAME EXACT THING. Carry HD Audio and Video through one cable. Also if you want "lossless" audio, which can carry Dolby True HD 5.1 Surround Sound and DTS-HD Master Audio, than all you need is an HDMI cable that is of the spec 1.3a, and this HDMI cable is just that.
I have beaming 5.1 sound surround HD, and my new 58" Panasonic Plasma looks amazing. And guess what? The picture didn't change with this HDMI, or the monster (Compared on my 1080p 58" Panasonic Plasma).
So use some logic and take my advised as a violated shopper. Don't pay too much for an HDMI CABLE!
