Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of DVI Gear HDMI Cable 2M (6 Feet)

Customer Review: Excellent cable and very inexpensive!
Summary: 5 Stars

This cable is well constructed and works perfectly! I have bought 4 or 5 in the last year for different TV's (and friends), and at less than $3.50 with shipping, you cant beat the price (really, you can't). You can't even buy the old style RCA cables for that much...and HDMI is the best you can go. These are gold plated and are very similar to the Monster cables that claim to be the best of the best, but Monster takes advantage of people who dont know whats so special about digital.
The beauty of all digital signal is that it doesnt matter how bad the signal is when it gets to the end of the line...its all ones and zeros, so as long as the signal gets to the TV, it will be just as beautiful as always. All the TV has to do is be able to tell if its one thing or the other (1 or 0) and the whole signal is there just as it was when it was sent out. Gold plating isnt even necessary, but this cable has it anyway, so if you really want it, this cable is still meets your needs.
I have experienced no issues with these cables over the last year and a half and they perform beautifully! I would suggest them to anyone! No one looks what name brand the cable is behind your beautiful TV anyway, so save the $100 and spend in on something else you can appreciate more than a more expensive brand name cable. New things are always price jacked everywhere you go when they come out (like firewire...which was also close to $100 when it came out...just because it was new). It costs next to nothing to make these cables, they arent anything special, Monster just charges a lot more because you pay for the name. They ARE EXCELLENT cables, but not worth $95 more for sure.
PS: Yes, these do video and audio, and its absolutely stunning on my TV.

Customer Review: Xbox 360 Ready and remarkable
Summary: 5 Stars

So I came home last night to find the cables i ordered were finally here. I just got off a 16 hour shift and its midnight. I told myself, "well i have work in 5 hours, I'll just hook it up to my Xbox and play tomorrow". So I opened it up and installed it to my 32" Samsung LCD. Ok, all done. Time to get some needed sleep... I wonder what the Xbox dashboard looks like in HDMI? So I turned in on and saw my living room fill with bright vivid color. I was pretty amazed.. And this was just the dashboard! I set my Xbox to 1080p and said ok, its configured.. Then I put in battlefield bad company 2. . . Good bye sleep. As soon as the title screen came on I was in complete awe. I started playing as a sniper and I can see EVERYTHING and EVERYONE, in the game running around! No more straining and getting my eyes watery, checking my peripherals for the slightest amount of pixilated movement only to find out it was the sway of a tree. Needless to say, I dominated as a sniper, seeing everything in front of me in full clarity.HDMI realllly makes a difference. The only watery eye i got was the complete satisfaction of watching people looking for my position and see them coming a mile away only to be disappointed as they drop from a well aimed sniper round to the head. They tried so hard with their 420p resolution to look for me...but it never happened.

HDMI all the way. You won't be disappointed. Oh god, did i mention the price?! I paid 2.55 free shipping?! That's a cheeseburger!

I did get sleep that night though. I played till 2 am and got up at 6am
i wish i called in sick today...

Customer Review: Price performer!
Summary: 5 Stars

HDMI is a digital signal. That means it's all or nothing--not like analog where you may have degradation due to signal loss, crosstalk, radio frequency interference, etc. As long as you have a decent HDMI cable to transmit the digital bitstream from point A to point B, you're set. I just purchased the new Sony Bravia S-series 32 inch LCD TV. To go with it, I trashed my old Apex with the missing remote and got a deal on a Sony DVP-NS70H upconverting DVD player that can synthesize "extra" lines of resolution. The player can send 720p or 1080i signal to the TV. (Current DVDs are 480p; that standard will change eventually with Blu-Ray and HD-DVD.) I knew that the upconversion feature only works through a digital connection, so I'd need to get an HDMI cable. Started checking prices and, no surprise, they were all over the place. Some were in the $100 range. Despite mild skepticism, I decided to try the cheapest one. This little beauty arrived in 3 days in a plain brown wrapper and a clear plastic bag. The cable is surprisingly robust, with nice build quality, supple insulation, and good connectors. I started to feel vindicated. So I plugged it in, put Harry Potter in the DVD player and WOW!! The DVD player and TV did their magic. Spellbindingly great picture and sound. I haven't tried a component analog connection--those cables are REALLY expensive and quality matters more there--so I can't compare component versus HDMI. Bottom line: this is an unbeatable price performer for around $10 incuding shipping. And no, this is not an April Fools joke.

Customer Review: You get what you pay for
Summary: 2 Stars

I recently purchased 3 of these for my new HD TV. Lets just say the comments about video quality and time to load the selection is true.

For my video test, I looked at 3 things. 1) CATV 2) DTC 3) DVD up converted to 768.

1) CATV there was little picture quality difference between CATV on Analog, Component video, or HMDI.

2) DTV there was notable video difference between direct connection to the COX DTV. The difference between HMDI and Component Video was noticeable but not horrid. The wait from switching to component video was about 2 seconds. The wait going to HDMI was about 4 seconds. (This got annoying in the test)

3) DVD video check. Ok this was not scientific I only used 1 DVD (Attach of the Clones) but was happy after word. The video quality from the HDMI was fuzzy as it produced shadows around the sharp edges.

The quality between the component video cable and the HDMI really was noticeable, and for that reason I am sending them back.

Which brings me to another item. The company is making its money off of shipping. I was charged $13 for shipping and the cables were sent parcel post ($1 or $2). It is going to cost me another $4 to ship them back.

The plus of all of this, if you do not want to spend $20 bucks for a component cable this $3 HMDI cable will work for you. But really if you are spending over $1K for a TV and more for the components, spend some money on better quality cables and Steer CLEAR from this cable/company.

Customer Review: Monster and the like should be prosecuted for ripping the public off

Received these cables in the mail yesterday. I was VERY excited to received these because just that morning my TV began flickering (no video/audio on HD channels). I figured it was just the HDMI cable, simple right? Well that was actually a handshake issue with comcast, not HDMI cable related, but anyways.

I order 2 cables for a blu-ray player we expect to have for Christmas. I have purchased a Vizio cable in the past which works well with my 42LD520. The Vizio cable cost $30 at Walmart. Two of these cables cost $5 combined, free shipping (w/ other items). First thing I noticed right away is how these cables were identical to the Vizio cable I had... IDENTICAL in construction. Both gold plated. I plugged in the cable and it works beautifully.

I know many people will wonder whether this cable is high speed and if it will produce true 1080p picture. The answer is yes. The cords I received are GT Max branded 1.3v cables. High Speed, 1080p cables.

I could not rate the durability or reliability, as I've only used the cable for a day. But I'm sure they are fine, the appear to be just as durable as the Vizio cable I have and they actually fit a little better in my LG set. These cables are a steal. I'm very curious to know how much these bad boys are marked up in the box stores if these guys can sell them for $2.50 a piece.

Shipping was quick, order on a Sunday, arrived on a Thursday, coast to coast.

Overall, this will prove to be a smart purchase.
