Customer Review: Don't EVER Pay More Than $10 For An HDMI Cable!
Summary: 5 Stars

Don't let the Monster Cables, Best Buys and Game Stops of the world try to fool you into thinking an HDMI cable needs to cost $65. That is an absolute SCAM.

A cable is a cable is a cable, and when it comes to digital transfers it either works or it doesn't. This cable WORKS. I use it between a PlayStation 3 and a 40" LCD TV. The connection feels solid, audio/video sound and look completely fine, and the cable even seems reasonably durable (not that you need to be running around and doing Van Halen jumps with your TV or anything).

The performance difference between this $2 cable and the $100 vacuum-sealed mercury-gold quintuple-twisted zircon-encrusted foot-polished ones you'll find at the store is so small you'd have to be in some kind of lab to see the difference. Either that, or you have to be a gullible idiot. It's your call, whatever.

Here's a much better way to spend $65. 1: Buy this cable ($5 total). 2: Buy Planet Earth: The Complete BBC Series [Blu-ray] ($50) 3: Pick up a dimebag from the local riff-raff ($10) 4: Have a kickass weekend in your hi-definition party lair.

Customer Review: Became useless within a week

Attracted by the low price, I bought two of these from Amazon. At that time the price was $1.80 per cable, shipping was $2.98 per cable.

I connected both cables to different HDMI ports on my HDTV. The picture quality was great, as expected. Within an hour, however, the first cable simply stopped working. I didn't move it, jiggle it or otherwise change anything in the configuration. I switched to a different input source; when I came back there was no signal detected by the TV. I tried a variety of things (to no avail) and replaced this cable with another Mediabridge - 6ft Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable - Version 1.3 Category 2 - 1080p - PS3 - Blu-Ray, which has worked fine for several months.

The second cable went the way of the first in a week's time. One day about a week after installation there was no signal and it never worked again. In this instance, my cable company provided an HDMI cable for free that has been working fine so far.

One cable might be a freak defective, but two suggests generally low quality. Not recommended unless you want to gamble $5 or so.

Customer Review: High-Tech cables... low low prices

Most of the internet reviews say it: you won't notice much of difference whether you pay $2.00 or $200.00 for your HDMI cable. I chose the cheaper option, then chose expedited shipping, and still ended up paying LESS for TWO cables than I would have for only ONE at any store (feel free to check for yourself)!
I used one cable to connect my HDTV to my HD Cable box, and one cable to connect my HDTV to my DVD-Upconverter. My girlfriend's girl friend kept on going on and on about the "quality" as we watched the "Lost" Season 4 Season Finale!
I blew my own mind a little bit watching bits of the Star Wars trilogy (2004 release). Safe to say: these cheap little cables do their job! Unless someone comes up with a very compelling reason for me to spend more money on HDMI cables in the future, I'd go with these again in the future.
Side Note: when you upgrade to the HD Cable box (like with Comcast - over your standard Digital), make sure to read the directions and CALL the Cable Company and get the new "box" activated. Don't assume it will work just because you already have an active account. A mistake that cost me at least a half hour, but that doesn't have anything to do with the cables.

Customer Review: Too good to be true

I just bought a PS3 and our Tv has HDMI inputs so I thought I might as well use it to the fullest. So I go online and I just want to buy a generic brand one for maybe 10 and not the 80 that everyone else seems to be selling HDMI cables for. Well I go onto amazon thinking I might get one and lo and behold I see it for only 3.00. Plus free shipping or maybe it was 1 dollar for the cable and 2 for the shipping, either way I paid in total about 3 dollars. Anywhoo I get it, and it works and I'm very happy with my purchase until i decide to move my ps3 to another tv. It only has the analog connection so I went ahead and swapped it. Later I bring it back to my HD tv but the cable doesnt work. It's dead, the ps3 and the tv don't recognize the cables plugged in. I tried manually connecting it via ps3 and even then it tell me there's something wrong with the cable. I know it sounds like a great deal for less than 5, but it may be worth it to spend an extra 5 or so for a cable that works, heck even a 15 doesnt sound too bad when i bought a one time use cable for 3 if the 15 is gonna last longerHDMI Cable 2M (6 Feet)

Customer Review: good dependable HDMI cable
Summary: 5 Stars

Have a 52 inch 650 Samsung HDTV. Bought an expensive HDMI cable to connect it to my Brighthouse Cable and got a great picture.
Hooked up my $2.45 cable and got the same picture.

The similar Monster Cable at Circuit was $130. The salesperson insisted that this was THE ONE that would give me the best picture. For $130 it had better do a lot more than that for me.

Did extensive research on HDMI cables and had gotten the conclusion that it worked or it didn't. The info is a 1 or a 0. There is no "it looks better". It works or it doesn't.

However, the more expensive cables tend to be more rugged. We have a cat that just LOVES to chew on cables and I don't really know if it is cat proof, but for the price it can be easily replaced.

It should also be noted that many of the "not so great video" that one receives is the fault of the cable company and not the HDMI cable. There is a great variation on the signal received.

With Blu Ray, the picture on my 52 inch Samsung is awesome EVERY time. But when it is just connected to my cable box the picture quality varies by the channel although they are all HD.
