These turned out to be just what I was looking for. Used them in my finished basement to redicrect the ceiling vents from blowing directly on people. Magnets are plenty strong to hold these to the ceiling vents - either the manufactuer is providing different magnets these days or the people that complained about this issue in earlier reviews inhaled too much from the 20 coats of paint they applied to their vents.
