Customer Review: buy a different brand - 1 star is too many for this one

Dogs and cats react only because the sound is novel to them. The device I received and the replacement after that were so low powered that some animals walk over out of curiosity, some don't react at all and the ones that it scares is only because the new sound startles them. I had a chance to try a different brand years ago and I know from that experience that this brand is a toy in comparison. If you think this will protect then give it to your kids and watch how fast they get themselve eaten. There you go, suicide by dog, that's a good use for it. May be it is just quality control, you might get lucky, if not then you might have to deal with a seller that won't return calls or e-mail, like i did. So you bypass by finding his supplier and get a replacement that is just as bad. Go to the website and they are obviously throwing away the bad reviews they get and posting only favorable ones. I hate being cheated. Score another point for the bad guys.Customer Review: Fantastic Device

I bought this a couple of months ago from Amazon because of a very noisy Terrier the worst neighbors in the world brought home last fall. The dog was tossed in the backyard all day and the neighbors left. The dog would bark constently and when I went into back yard the barking would intensify for the entire time I was in the back yard. Shooting the dog crossed my mind but knowing this dog barked due to neglect and lack of training, I opted for this Dog Dazer II on Amazon. I did not think it would work due to its small size and cheap price but it did and it works better then I thought it would. I can now zap the dog from my deck which is a ways away from the Dog and when I do, that little mutt goes running for his porch and cowers in the corner. In fact now, I just have to come into the back yard and he takes off for his porch. This thing works and works good. Best little device I ever bought. I highly recommend it for yappy neighbor dogs.Customer Review: Not So Great

Well, I gave it a shot, in light of some of the glowing positive reviews I saw on the site, but I also noticed that some customers reported it didn't work that well, or had no effect on the dog(s) in question. Count me among the latter.
My neighbors have this honkin' big horse-like dog, I think it's a bullmastiff, and it just goes nuts every time it sees me. I've talked nice to the dog, thrown meat to it, and shouted "Stop!" and "Quiet" and the like, but to no avail.
The Dog Dazer II had no effect whatsoever. She kept right on barking, I doubt if she could even hear it. (The instructions say it works best on strange dogs, not so much on familiar dogs, but I don't think I saw that in the product description online. It should be noted if you're considering this product.)
My next purchase will be an air horn. Maybe the neighbors will be annoyed enough to take action, finally.

Just got it. Opened the package, nothing to do but use it (battery included)! And got the perfect opportunity with the neighbor's little toy dog directly across the street. This little dog has a habit of yapping at me for no reason and literally walks across the street to stand in MY driveway to continue barking at me! Totally ridiculous and the owner does nothing about it. It even crosses the street to poop in my yard sometimes!! Well all I had to do was stand in my yard and press the button. The dog tilted it's head to the side as if I had a string and pulled it in that direction. So I said, "interesting". Tried it again, same thing, and again, same thing. By the forth time, it turned around tail between its legs, and walked back into its owners garage! Yay for me!!! And I was at least 30 feet away!!! Even tried it on my cat who tries to dash outside when I'm coming in, he went to other way instead.Customer Review: I cycle w/ confidence again!

This works! I stopped riding my bike completely b/c of dogs. I have a fear of them. It's a horrible fear. When I first used this product (after a friend told me about hers), I had to use it. I had two large dogs run towards me barking their heads off, and I stopped my bike down the road from them. With dazer in hand, I looked the one down who ran towards me. I pointed the dazer right at this dog, and lo and behold the dog started to move backwards and sideways from me. The dog ended up running behind the house. Even the next time I rode past that house the dog was there, but he acted different this time. He acted like he was afraid of me. Anyhow, I never ride w/out my dazer now. I am confident when I ride, and that's wonderful, b/c it's my favorite exercise! I ride at least 12 miles when I do, and I need to ride w/ security. I HIGHLY recommend the dazer. My husband takes it when he runs as well.
