We've had several of this DVD player, all breaking down within less then a year. It's true that it plays everything, including all region codes and it is small - that's why we kept replacing it with the same model. But all we owned had similar problems: after a while it stopped reacting to buttons (one never opened the DVD slot any more), or played the DVDs "broken up". So now I'm lookiing for a new model that can do the same but wont' need to be replaced all the time.Customer Review: cyberhome DVD player

I finally decided to purchase this DVD player after searching many other DVD players. I needed a region free one for me to watch DVD from Japan. Except the fact shipping and handling was little bit expensive and it didn' t have good tracking system, the item FINALLY arrived and just little bit confusion, I was able to change the setting to region free. It has been working good ever since. I would recommend this items to everyone who is needing region free DVD player.Customer Review: This DVD is a piece of junk

I bought this DVD in November and used it for about 4 months. In March, it started giving problems. It freezes while trying to play any DVD or VCD while the same DVD/VCD works fine in another player. I plan to throw this player and DON'T RECOMMEND this to anyone who wants to buy it. You will only get about 3-4 months to get you out of the warranty period. Warranty is valid for 3 months labor and upto 1 year with a $20 service fee (I bought this for $20)!!Customer Review: It works 4 Stars
Is it a piece of cutting edge electronics no, but it does the job. Its like all the chinese goods low rent, but it works. I needed to watch my Mcleods Daughters DVDs from down under and it works like a charm and for the money even with the shipping who can complain. If it bombs out I will just get another one or see whats out at that time. If you need to watch overseas DVDS roll the dice I did and now I'm watching my show.Customer Review: Good stuff Plays it all

Just tried out this Phillips player with DVDs ordered in France , UK and from Hong-Kong. Works great, good picture and no problems I shant repeat what others have said, but will say this DVD player managed to make it through some of my old, scratched up DVDs without a hitch. DVDs, that is, that no other player I've encountered has been able to make it through due to heavy scarring.
