Customer Review: Great UPS, highly recommended instead of the more expensive options if you're on a budget

Pros: Enough power to keep my new gaming rig and 23" monitor running for 4-6 minutes during an outage. Handy display shows the estimated time remaining or other info about the power being drawn. 5 battery-backed outlets are enough for all of my important components, and the other 4 power my peripherals like the speakers. User-replaceable battery is convenient, no need to buy a complete unit in the future. The unit is small and easy to put out of sight.
Cons: Doesn't clean power to exactly 120V, but keeps it within 3V or so of that, which should be good enough for most power supplies and monitors. Not much room for bulky plugs, but luckily I don't have any need for them right now.

I have had this product for about a week now and so far it works just fine. I purchased it to protect my HDTV and Home Theater system and it's doing a good job. Runs at about half load with everything on, and does a great job protecting the equipment from brownouts, blackouts and I guess it also keeps the voltage within acceptable levels all the time. I like the design and the LCD display is very nice - gives you information about everything (battery charge, voltage, load%, run time, etc.) I only give it a "4" star rating instead of "5" stars because there is no way to keep the display on, which would be very nice. It blanks out after about a minutes and there is no way to control this.Customer Review: Electric fire!

When it arrived the battery claimed to be fully charged. Plugged in some stuff and popped it back on, it started beeping and powering on and off. Removed items one at a time - and then there were none and it stopped beeping and power cycling. At this point the battery showed completely dead. I left it plugged in to charge. Per the manual it should take up to 16 hours to charge, after 20 it was still only at 60%, an hour later it was down to 54%. I unplugged it and there was a flash from inside the unit and it started smoking. So thanks CyberPower, going back to Opti-UPS, I had two units for almost 5 years before their batteries died... and no fire.Customer Review: Working well so far

CyberPower CP1000AVRLCD does look a lot better than your average UPS. In fact, it is on the desk next to the computer instead of down on the floor out of sight.
The CyberPower has a display that with each consecutive push of the button, tells you what the current load is, the voltage it receives from the wall outlet, the estimated run time, the total load capacity, the battery capacity, even how many minutes remain during the power outage and the battery is running down.
As mentioned by others the nine outlets are so closely spaced that any device powered by a wallwart will take up two or three outlets.

NOTE: CyberPower does not recommend this unit for today's Power Factor Correction (PFC) power supplies. Instead, they now have a model designed to "work" (be nicer on) today's newer supplies.
See CyberPower PFC Adaptive Sinewave Intelligent LCD CP1000PFCLCD 1000VA Uninterrupted Power Supply. Note the PFC in the model number. Basically, this newer model outputs a shaped ramp to more simulate a sine wave -- instead of discrete pulses combined with periods of no output.
