Customer Review: Smart Design and Lightweight Comfort

I received my Cyber Acoustics AC-201 a couple of weeks ago and am very happy with it. The sound quality is excellent and the sleek, lightweight design with adjustable head band and ultra-soft leatherette pads that fit on top of the ear are relatively comfortable for my sensitive ears. I have had trouble in the past with flimsy microphone attachments that break on cheap sets. The AC-201 has extra support in this area with the additional design feature of adjusting so the mic may be placed on either the left or right side. I haven't owned the set long enough to vouch for its durability, but for this low price tag, if it lasts for a few months I'll be a satisfied customer and buy another AC-201 to replace it.Customer Review: Perfect for Homeschooler

My children are home-schooled and use earphones with microphones. The school sent some, but the quality is relatively cheap. These fit my 5-year old son perfectly, so I tried them on my other 2 children who are older and they work great! (I have since ordered 2 more) They are able to block out the voices of the other children as they use them so they can participate in their lesson with their cyber classroom undisturbed. The price point is great. The connection of the microphone is nice because it is NOT fragile like many others and it rotates up in line with the head band, thus keeping it out of the way, (and out of their mouths)! Thanks.. Worked well for about six months, then a week of the microphone cutting out. Today the microphone died completely. Usage of the headset has been low, three to four phone calls per week via Skype or Google Voice and headset has received normal handling/care that I would expect it should have held up to (unplugged, cord wrapped up and placed in drawer when not in use.)
Been reading reviews of other headsets and seems like they all have their issues and the microphones tend to be the failure point. Looks like these type headsets might just have to be considered disposable, so don't spend too much and expect to get more than six months or so out of them.

Just remember folks, you get what you pay for here. For under $10 don't expect this headset to perform miracles. The sound quality isn't on par with my $30 headphones, but it's not awful either.
The noise cancellation is passable as long as you remember to adjust your computer settings accordingly (Microphone boost needs to be around +10 dB at the highest for it to not pick up my computer's fans too much)
If you can afford something better, do it. If you just want a cheap throwaway headset like me, and have a better mic for recording purposes (like myself), then this is a good deal, very comfortable, voice communication's clear enough.

These are great headphones if you plan on wearing them for an hour or less but after that I can feel my ear lobes throbbing and an uncomfortable pressure on my ears. The sound quality is excellent. You can position the microphone anywhere by bending or twisting it. You can also adjust the height but you can not adjust the width. I believe this is the reason they started hurting after a while. Don't get me wrong I like the headset, it is worth what I paid. This are perfect for what I purchased them for - chatting via webcam. If you are looking for a extremely comfortable long wearing headset you may want to spend a bit more.
