Customer Review: NEW "OLD-STYLED" PHONE FOR MY PARENTS

The black desk phone my parents bought from Ma Bell in 1960 finally quit working and I was worried that they would NOT like any new phone I would purchase as a replacement. Although this has push buttons rather than a dial, it is a nice, heavy phone and the transition went fairly well. They don't understand some of the features but the basic phone is great and, if I want to use features while I'm visiting, I can.
Great phone, great price (in comparison with other places that sell it).

Unlike what the other reviews say, the buttons on my phone do not stick and work perfectly. The ring is not at all loud and has such a beautiful sound to it. The sound reminds me of old black and white movies. Best of all, it is heavy, is superior quality and looks so great. It is a flat black color so it does not show smudges or fingerprints. I love this phone. It is great in emergencies if the power is out and your cordless is not working. Would highly recommend it.Customer Review: Good price for a good replica

As noted by others, the included cord is curly plastic (not straight cloth-covered), the matte black plastic does not look exactly like old bakelite, and there is no recess behind the cradle for easy lifting. But, the phone closely mimics the antique, looks great in a room filled with vintage furniture and costs 1/5 the price of a rebuilt original phone. I'm really very pleased with this phone! The authenic ring is delightful and surprises everyone. The push button, but looks like rotary, dial works smoothly. The size is good for desk top or nightstand. The only minor negative is that the plastic body doesn't quite have the same vintage feel as the metal or early heavier plastic. The picture also showed the phone with a cloth cord but it came with a plastic one. All in all-

I bought the wall version of this phone, though NOT over Amazon. The pushbuttons didn't work when I got it. I returned it, and bought the same phone online (NOT thru Amazon, but from Crossley direct). The second phone worked fine for about six months. Now most of the pushbuttons don't work at all and three of them just stay stuck.
It's great-looking, but don't buy it if you need a phone that works!
