Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Creative Zen Vision:M 30 GB MP3 and Video Player (White)Customer Review: Fantastic Player Summary: 5 Stars
I did a TON of research before I bought a player and this is the one I chose. It was the right decision. Great software, merges easily with my computer. I run Windows and use Windows Media Player 11 to organize my music and this integrates seamlessly with that (you don't have to use the software it comes with at all). It even grabbed all my pictures and video too!
The interface is feature-rich and has everything I'd ever want to use in it. The controls do take a delicate touch to get used to, but I got good at it in about 5 minutes. The screen is amazingly bright and easy to view, even for video (supposedly twice as bright as an iPod) and the battery life is remarkable.
All in all, much better than a comparable iPod AND it has radio. Also a host of great accessories for it like remote controls and silicone protective covers. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase.
Customer Review: ahhh the joys of my creative. Summary: 5 Stars
i abso-bally-lutely love this... it is marvy-brilliant. it takes awhile to get used to and to find out all the cool little features but once you've had it for a few weeks, it is totally worth it. my friends balk at the price. but when you get down to it, it is only about ten dollars per gig.
i bought the creative cuz i am adamantly against mac products. and i'm really glad... (do ipods have a reset button in case it freezes?? i don't think so!) and it has been worth every penny...
the only problems i have had with are
A) with the videos... where you can only have .AVI files and the converter either takes forever OR fails to convert the file... and
B) the wee bit that you need to plug into the bottom so you can charge or dock it. it's kinda annoying to have to carry that around with ya.
other than that is it fabulous and i whould change it for a second.
Customer Review: Read "almosthappy" review for workaround to DOA issue Summary: 2 Stars
The first Zen we bought would not turn on at all. We used the Amazon return process and quickly received a replacement. In the meantime, I read the comment / review from "almosthappy" about how to charge the battery on a player that was Dead on Arrival. The second player was DOA as well. We followed his instructions and used a wall charger from an old CD player. Once the battery had enough charge we could boot up the player. It would be nice if Creative provided a wall charger with the MP3 player. (One can be purchased as part of a pkg with a silicone cover, and a travel and wall charger. I found them on Amazon for ~ $26.) We have three Zens in our family and so far they seem to work well. We will have to reserve judgment until more time has passed. I recommend buying a decent set of earbuds if you find the ones that came with the MP3 player to be uncomfortable.
Customer Review: Awesomeness Summary: 5 Stars
Zen Vision:M exceeded my expectations. The 30GB drive is a lot of space to store a huge song collection and videos as well, both which are played flawlessly. The Zen is kinda bulky compared to the iPod, but thats not necesarily a bad thing. It feels great in your hands, and its back is not a finger print and scratches magnet at all, which is just perfect. The sound quality is superb, videos run amazingly well, and the extra features are just the icing like FM Radio, Microphone, Photo viewer and such. Setting custom wallpapers is also really nice to have. The touch pad gets a bit of time getting used to, but ull get the hang of it in a day or two. The face buttons are excellent and makes controlling the player way too easy.
I just love this thing and Ive been using it every single day since I got it.
Customer Review: Definite Improvement Summary: 5 Stars
This player was purchased for my daughter to replace an iPod which had pooped out on her while living in Japan. She swore she would never own another iPod because she went through 7 of them in the year and a half since she bought one. Not because of hard wear either. Since my son has also gone through multiple replacements, I sympathized and did substantial research to find a replacement that would be more reliable. The Creative Zen is it. My daughter loves the unit and sings its praises whenever asked. The only drawback is that the unit ships with extremely high control sensitivity. Once set on the lowest level, the unit performs magnificently. It plays everything, is easier than the iPod to put files into, and lets you manage your files with ease. My son's next player will also be a Creative Zen.
