Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Creative Zen Vision:M 30 GB MP3 and Video Player (White)Customer Review: Nice Digital Player Summary: 4 Stars
This is the first time I've ever bought anything like this. My kids all have iPods, but I really just wanted something small on which I could store photos and carry them with me - in my pocketbook. I picked the Zen because the screen was a little bigger than most. The screen is nice and pretty clear but it's still not as big as I would like. However, the price of the Creative Zen Vision 30GB was more than I wanted to spend. Even this one was kind of pricey. I was able to easily download my photos and can do a quick slideshow. I haven't learned about all the features, but I haven't spent that much time with it yet.
I can't comment on the music part except for the fact that it's very easy to download music. It sounds just fine to me through my headphones - can't use those little earbuds. I'd prefer to get speakers or something.
The organizer is ok - but don't expect it to be as useful as a Palm Pilot.
The touch controls can be a bit sensitive, but I'm guessing that will get better once I get used to it.
It's a nice looking little thing and quite suitable for me for now. I can carry my photos, my music and address book all in one compact place. I will probably give this one to my husband and get the Vision 30GB next - if it comes down in price.
Customer Review: Great sound, but having difficulty with syncing Summary: 4 Stars
I chose the Creative Zen Vision M based on about 10 hours of research. It came down to an iPod or the Vision M. iTunes was not what i wanted to rely on for future music purchases, so I chose the Vision M. I've had it for about a month now and use it many to deal with my 1-hour commutes. My ultimate goal was to download audio books and catch up on my reading. It's worked extremely well except for the syncing. I had Windows Media Player (WMP)version 11 loaded on my computer already, but also loaded the Creative software as instructed by the quickstart instructions. Seems like there's a conflict between the two media managers. Many times my computer will recognize the Vision M, but the WMP won't see any files on the Vision M, even when I can see the files using the Vision M screen. I had to constantly try different settings on WMP and try unplugging and plugging the Vision M player back into the computer's USB port. Nothing was consistent. So I deleted all the Creative software. The syncing works a little better but it's not as consistent as I would like. Seems it should be easier than this. Perhaps I am overlooking something, so if anyone has a solution, please let me know. Overall, I love my Vision M and may consider buying a better set of earphones, but I really enjoy it.
Customer Review: A grrreat alternative to the iPod! Summary: 4 Stars
I must say, I bought myself a Zen because a friend of mine was getting one, and when I saw what it could I was sold. Imagine getting Radio, Video, Photos, Microphone and of course, your ENTIRE music library on this handy little device. It was a great buy. I read somewhere that someone said that his Zen was giving problems at in a plane high altitudes. Well I travelled from Trinidad to New York and it worked like a charm during my flight. Also, the battery life is pretty decent. However I wish that the adapter (for AC, USB and AV) was integrated into the Zen. Video and photo quality is great. Just remember to organise your music library properly before loading your songs onto the Zen. I didn't and now I have a bunch of Unknown songs, songs without artist etc. Make sure to get the AC adapter if your player doesn't come with one. It cuts recharging time down by about half. One thing that I would like to have seen is a Search feature on the player itself, where I can type in the name of a Title and have the Zen search for it. May be in time :-) Oh! One more thing. My frend bought the black Zen. The case at the back was white. What's up with that? Why couldn't it be all black?? However...all in all, a good buy. No regrets!
Customer Review: Great! Summary: 5 Stars
This is by far the best DAP I've ever had. You gotta love the screen. It's very bright and colors shine alive on it. Audio quality is top notch and you can adjust it with many tweaks (custom EQ, Bass Boost, volume normalizing), The UI is really responsive and easy to use, but it also offers some advanced features. It plays and record FM radio stations, record sound, and support MP3, WMA and WAV files.
One of its strong points is Video reproducing. You don't have to do any further recoding or converting to play your videos. You just drop them in there and this beauty will play them. I've only had a few issues with some movies with rare video and audio formats, but it will play most of your video collection.
Also, this thing is a beauty and an eye catcher. I keep getting compliments from everyone that sees it. My only gripe is with the glossy front finish, it's a scratch magnet. But I just put a "Best Skin Ever" (brand) invisible protector and this is almost scratch-proof and it's hardly noticeable. You don't have to worry about the back, as it is made of some aluminum alloy.
Get this baby with no doubt if you were even thinking about it. do it now!
Customer Review: The ultimate MP3/DivX/FM radio player Summary: 5 Stars
I love my Vision:M. The interface is intuitive and the video quality is amazing. When I use the optional AV cable to stream DivX files to the TV, they are even better than VHS quality. I use my Vision:M to cart around my entire music collection (300 CDs burned at 192-bit MP3 take up about 18 gigs), plus lots of photos, several videos and I allocate 4 gigs to data files. Being able to listen to, as well as record, FM radio is a fabulous bonus, as is the voice recorder.
A PSP AC adapter works with this unit and I picked one up for $10 at the Real Canadian Superstore, so I can recharge the player without having to hook it up to a computer.
Like most MP3 players, iPods included, the unit is prone to scratching so I ordered a BSE (Best Skins Ever) for it online. As for a case, my choice is a handknit "sock" for it, similar to the ones sold for iPods.
I used to own an iPod, but I was never really that thrilled with it. The picture quality was only so-so and the video functionality was pretty limited. The iPod is slimmer than the Vision:M, but the Vision:M outshines the iPod in every other way.
I'm extremely happy with my purchase!
