Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Creative Zen Stone 1 GB MP3 Player (Pink)Customer Review: Nice MP3 player for the price Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this handy little MP3 player on a whim one afternoon while shopping at Wal-Mart. I was feeling kind of out of the loop, being the only one of my friends without an MP3 player, and at $29.99, I figured it would do the trick.
The Creative Zen Stone is small, about the size of a book of matches. It comes with headphones, USB cable, and the MP3 player itself. I connected the MP3 player to my computer, the computer instantly "recognized" the MP3 player, and sent me to the proper folder.
Adding music was as easy as dragging and dropping files from my My Music folder on Windows. I added about 120 songs, let my MP3 player charge overnight, and in the morning I was ready to listen to my music.
It has pretty impressive sound for something so small. It has a "shuffle" feature, where it plays your songs randomly instead of in the order they are in. It also is pretty non-destructible. I've dropped it, stepped on it, left it in my car on in 100 degree heat, etc. etc. and it works as good as new.
I've had it almost a year now, and I've been taking it to the gym with me every day for over a month now. Its nothing fancy, and it doesn't have any bells or whistles, but it does the trick. I now have 190 songs on it, and it is about 2/3 of the way full. The battery life is VERY, VERY good. I charge it every couple of days as habit, but I've never had the battery die on me.
I'm ready to upgrade to something much fancier (iPod touch), but this little MP3 player has performed quite well.
Customer Review: works great for me! Summary: 4 Stars
I don't really consider myself to be in the iPod generation but I really love this little player. I got a free MP3 player (generic) which ended up breaking so I went looking for a replacement. I especially like the Zen Stone for its speaker so that I don't have to use the earbuds. I use it while gardening to just clip on the inside of my shirt or to set out while I do exercise. I use it while playing guitar to be able to have the song I am working on right in front of me to listen to different parts of it.
The only thing I have had an issue with is the same as some people have mentioned before which is the charging. To me it holds the battery life fine but I have not used others to compare. The issue I have had is my computer not recognizing the player when I hook it up on USB to charge and I did the same thing as was mentioned, I plugged it in overnight to charge and went to bed without realizing that it hadn't actually connected. You sometimes have to really make sure that it is connected or change USB cables, or it might be that I am still on Win2000pro? Either way I always make sure that it is connected when I charge and then it works great for me!
Customer Review: Do not buy the pink one Summary: 1 Stars
I ordered one of these after reading the reviews of the black stone trying to decide if it was a good product. I have had good luck with other Zen players so I thought this would be a good buy. I got from the people who reviewed the black stone that this was a great piece of equipment at a great value. Well, maybe it is if you buy the black one, but the pink one is a piece of junk. The first one (yes, I returned it for another one) would not charge at all, would not turn on and generally refused to work. I returned it to amazon thinking the one I received was defective, until I had the same problem with the second pink stone I received. At this point I do not want another stone and I will be looking for another mp3 player.
Customer Review: Pink Stone Summary: 5 Stars
I've had a Zen Vision M for a couple of years, with no problems at all. So I picked up a 1 Gb Creative Zen Stone 1 GB MP3 Player (Pink)Stone for taking to the gym and all. It's way cool. I just loaded lots of my favorite songs from Windows Media Player and play away. I was heart-broken when it went through a full cycle in our washing machine, -I didn't know until I heard it clanging around in the dryer. But a few hours later I checked it out and, luckily, it still worked just fine! Pink wasn't my first choice but it was the least expensive.
Customer Review: poor quality mp3 player :-( Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this pink zenstone from Target for a very good price, and was ecstatic about the simplicity of the design...and the small size.Until I took it home, charged it on my computer (which took almost 3 hours). The songs downloaded with ease, and needed no software (which was a great bonus), but when I played it, the battery died after 5 minutes! :-( I took it back to Target, got store credit and paid alot more for a Sony mp3 walkman, which was well worth the extra money! This zenstone is a great concept, but the quality needs to be greatly improved.
