Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Sound Card (70SB073A00000)Customer Review: Good Soundcard Summary: 5 Stars
Good soundcard, decent price, decent drivers (especially compared to previous creative offerings)
I like how it can switch between gaming, audio creation and normal media mode. Each modes settings can be customized. The CMSS 3D is sweet in games and the crystalizer has good impact on my mp3s audio quality.
I'm bitter because I had to put this into my sisters computer to make way for a gigabit ethernet card because my new computers motherboard has craptastic onboard ethernet (30%+ cpu usage). So now I'm on onboard HD Audio (It's actually not half bad!). She's very happy with the soundcard (I bet she is! *snarls*)

Customer Review: creative soundblaster extreme gamer Summary: 5 Stars
this sound card is everything i expected and more.i purchased it, primarily, for gaming but also for music listening. in gaming the location of enemies by footsteps or other sounds is so exact it has to be experienced.you do have to work with the sound console to get the sound qualities that you want but once that is completed you got your self a serious card.for music listening this card is still at the top of its class with the proper software to allow a fair amount of listening adjustments. do yourself a favor and get some decent earphones, i use ath ad700's. do your self another favor and buy this card! that's all i got to say man.
Customer Review: X-Fi is Better than an Equilizer Summary: 5 Stars
I bought an Zmod to use with my iPod at work. The 3D Surround and Crystalizer definitely do better than just an equalizer. I bought this sound card to use in my htpc at home that has only AC '97 onboard audio. Mobo udio was ok but sounded flat even when equalizer used. X-Fi is much cleaner sounding and louder than onboard audio. Also the 3D makes sound come out/forward more and Crystalizer helps bass better than eq with my home stereo my htpc is connected to.
Digital out only work with 5.1 DVd's and is mini optical, But the quality from standard 2 channel audio is great!, even compared to my onboard digital out.
Customer Review: Lots of promises, not much to back it up Summary: 2 Stars
This card simply does not perform to it's product specifications and marketing claims. This can mostly be attributed to the terrible sound drivers that cause a multitude of problems. Such problems include random sound distortions, popping, broken microphone input etc. Yes that's right this XtremeGamer sound card does not currently feature working support for microphones. Customer support is also rather terrible so no one on the support forums has received any support for these problems. Do yourself a favor and look towards the Auzentech or BlueGear range of sound cards, as they actually function.
Customer Review: Excellent Sound Quality, X-Fi Effects, Value Summary: 5 Stars
I bought a Dell PC from Dell Singapore and requested X-Fi ExtremeGamer Sound Card for S$130 more. I heard about X-Fi and wanted to try it out. Indeed, it didn't disappoint at all. It runs smoothly under Windows Vista and it even can run concurrently with SRS Wow in Windows Media. It depends on your preference. I found most music become "alive" when X-Fi effects are on. A minority works better with SRS Wow on concurrently. Compared to other sound cards that offer 3D, high signal to noise ratio, enhancements, it has performance not worse than any other and yet cheaper. Excellent audio and value!
