My 10-year-old loves this! He and his friends are making stupid movies and posting them on youtube for the rest of their friends to enjoy. I control what gets posted to youtube with password security. Anytime someone uses his name or some other detail that you don't want to share with child-predators, I just refuse to post it. The kids are learning a little internet safety while having fun being silly kids and creating movies and silly storylines. I highly recommend this as a toy for the middle-school age group.Customer Review: works about as good as a camera phone with video

The good: cheap, easy to use, good low light video quality, did I say cheap
The bad: poor color reproduction, useless zoom, very poor audio quality.
This is a nice toy for a kid (bought it for my 12 yr. old son)or anyone who likes to post videos on youtube. The sound and video is not as good as the flip but it cost less than half of what the flip did. The software is very basic, but it's easy for any computerphobe to use. It's pretty useless for anything that's more than 10 or 12 feet away.

After reading reviews, I decided on this camera for my classroom. It's cool and ever-so-easy to use. Being a Mac user, I needed to use Quicktime to view my movies. Working on several different operating systems between school and home, I initially had problems. I found an application, ViddyUp to put my video in a format that moved between computers and between my Quicktime and iMovie. I'm entirely satisfied with the portability, quality, and ease of using this movie camera.... and it's soooo inexpensive!Customer Review: Good quality low priced camera

i Purchased this camera for my 7 year old , Good quality product quite easy to use and my kid loves it.
Video quality is quite good for its price range, Audio seems to pretty impresive also. Built in software is not too bad, able to play the recorded videos with out any issues.
It does take time to transfer videos from this device to the desktop
The most appealing thing about this product is the ease of use, no fancy features to worry about or buttons to fumble around.

My husband bought one of these a few months ago. I had to have one not only for me but my children so they can record their children. The sound on the cam itself is not very good but it transfers well to the computer. We recorded a handball tournament and the cam is fast enough that you can see where the ball is at all times...barring objects in front of it. The Vado is affordable and a very good device for recording every day events such as a baby's first steps or your son's wrestling match. Get you one!
