Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Creative Labs Vado Pocket Video Camcorder (Silver) OLD MODELCustomer Review: A good camcorder the size of a cell phone Summary: 4 Stars
For just $50, the little Vado is an excellent bargain. My wife leaves it in her purse all the time "just in case". I haven't tried it using the top quality video, but I'm very pleased with the quality of the "extended play" video. The sound is even very good for the price you're paying. While you can buy more expensive versions of even this camera where you can record for four hours, have you ever sat down to watch a 4-hour home video? We're taking this camera on a 7-day Alaskan cruise next month where I plan to carry it in my cell phone pouch, and we'll be lucky to fill this camera up on that whole cruise...and our friends will be GLAD the most they will be watching this is 4 hours.
Customer Review: Great Camcorder for Kids! Summary: 4 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I like this little gadget. It's small, durable, and does the job it's supposed to. I ordered this to be sent to my brother's house and found my nephew using it way more than me!
The video was about on par with my CanonSD500 digital camera. Also, I use iSquint to change the format from avi to mpg. To me, perhaps the advertised price could be a little cheaper, but for the job it's a great addition.
Customer Review: Expected Better From Creative Summary: 1 Stars
Bought this a while ago but used it only a couple of times. Seemed to work fine and I was satisfied (but not impressed) with the ease of use and quality. I am a "get what you pay for" believer.
I used it in May when my grandson visited and it worked fine. I wanted to use it again this month (Jan) but it would not turn on. Charged the battery and it still would not turn on. Bought a new battery and it still will not turn on. I got to use this camera 3 or four times max and I figure I did not get what I paid for. Creative "support" is basically non-existant. I would now hesitate to buy another of their products and would certainly not recommend one to others.
Customer Review: A good overall buy Summary: 4 Stars
I recently purchased a Creative Vado video camera, and I found it to be the best value for its price. It is reliable, easy to use, and might I add stealthy. I use it for recording speeches I have to make for my college classes. I do have a few minor gripes, but I will tell you right now that this is probably the best camera in the under $100.00 class. My main gripes have to do with recording volume and a slight amount of graininess evident in the videos. It records at lower volume than my brother's Kodak digital camera in video mode, but the footage is comparable in quality. Can't gripe too hard, though. I got a good deal for what I paid for it.
Customer Review: Vado by Creative Labs Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great product for the price. Of course it won't do what more expensive camcorders do but it is not intended too. It is intended for ease of carrying. You don't even know it is in your pocket. Ease of operation. All done with one thumb, and the buttons are conveniently placed. Use it a half dozen times and you don't even have to look at the button disignation. You already have their function memorized. Ease of playback on the screen, on PC, or TV. The video, although not great, it is acceptable. I have been taking some fall colors from scenic overlooks and the pictures are great for a $47.00 price tag.
