Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Creative Hard Plastic Case for Zen, Zen MX (Clear)Customer Review: Not perfect, but good nonetheless Summary: 4 Stars
PRO: it protects the screen. You just paid a bunch of dough for your zen. Do you really want permanent scratches on it?
Also, I can set it on my desktop (via the ever-so-convienent stander-thingie on the back) and run my PC speakers through it if I want.
It does what it says it will do, and it's worth the cost. Plus, you won't need those screen protectors (i-nique Topcoat Anti-Glare Advanced Screen Protector kit (Creative Zen) 4GB / 8GB)if you buy this case.
CON: the far-right button is hard to push when the Zen is in the case. That's an issue, as the far right button is the "skip forward" button. Also, the metal clip is pretty insecure. I wouldn't attach it to anything that might jiggle around. Either it or the plastic clip mechanism that seals the case up might give, thus defeating the whole reason for buying the case in the first place.
Still, I'd buy this case again if it broke.
Customer Review: Fantastic!!! Summary: 4 Stars
I don't know what people are raving about . Obviously a case deigned to protect something will make the product a little bit thicker. But i had no problems with the case except for one. The Key ring was extremely cheap quality and if i really tried i could bend it with my index finger. Other than that the case is strong ,durable and surely will protect your zen for years to come =)
The buttons are still easily accessible and you can get access to everything needed except for the Sd slot. That is the reason why i gave it 4 stars. My kickstand works fine but im not sure what other customers experience was. I have seen some other reviews and they complain that it is plastic . Well what else are they going to make it out of? Tunkston carbide.? Almost any case is made out of plastic!! But i do have to admit it does scratch fairly easy. But which one is cheaper to replace your 130 dollar zen or a stupid 15 dollar case? Exactly the case so all in all this product is great for its price.
Customer Review: Bitter Sweet Summary: 3 Stars
The idea and execution were great. It protects the device without taking away from the beauty of it by smothering it with a leather pouch.
Main issue is that the case is made of plastic. Plastic that scratches very easily. After a week of use the thing was full of scratches.
You can still see the screen well but it might just get worse and worse.
Another thing is that the plastic doesn't cushion anything. If the thing drops on the floor from 4ft. it will most probably break... so don't drop it. I used to have a Micro Zen with a leather pouch and the thing was like a tank.... But it was kinda ugly...
If all you want it for is to have it in your pocket... this works just fine, if you want to throw it in a bag with other things around. It will scratch very easily.
At least the player is not scratched. You can always buy a new clear case.
7/10
Customer Review: Nice case, decent price Summary: 5 Stars
This Creative Zen case is very nice, I like the look of it. The plastic is thick which should provide plenty of protection from dirt, dust, grease, or even if you drop it, it should spare the player from getting broken. The stand is a nice touch, although I doubt I will use it much. I bought this to keep the screen scratch free and smudge free because I hated cleaning the fingerprints off of it every time I looked at it. The keyring is nice, you can attach it to you backpack or your belt. A warning, if you have enormously fat fingers it may be hard for you to press the buttons or turn the power switch on. Also, if your headphone plug is wide, the plug may not fit in the headphone socket. A couple other reviewers have noted the fact that the case presses up against the screen, causing a noticeable "rainbow" contact point. I have that spot, but it's too small to be annoying and I can only see it when the unit is off. Overall it's a good buy, I got mine for $14.29 w/o shipping.
Customer Review: decent case with a few flaws,..... Summary: 4 Stars
I got this case and its a definite improvement over the leather flip case as it provides better protection all around (except for the controls - should have a silicone membrane over touch controls). It does scratch very easily but thats a small price to pay to keep those scratches off your ZEN. It opens in a strange fashion; you have to SLIDE the back cover off of it - takes a few minutes to get used to BUT if you drop it the whole thing justs pops right open. That basically solves the problem of getting it out of the case (to access the memory card slot)if need be. Dust gets under it very easily but thats the norm with cases of this type (ipod, Zune 30, Sony NWZ-S618, etc). The 1 real thing I didn't like was that the included metal keychain should be changed ASAP as its not the strongest and breaks quite easily. Too easy to lose your $300.00 toy if that happens - thats why 4 and not 5 stars. Pretty good case though and I would definitely recommend it!!!
